How many points would you pay for it?
Should be a flat rate. 100Kish OW. Well worth it.

That much for the difference between 380 and 777?

No, total miles in F. Should be the same rate on either.

This was not the case whenever I've looked with ATH having saver availability and not MXP, but that was a few years ago.

You don't think it's possible for me to recognize that I don't care about having a bar or shower on my flight? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just not things I care about. And definitely wouldn't be worth the significantly higher cost in points, which is what I saw when I was searching.

Anyone do this route? I'm only considering it because I've never flown Emirates business or first class and I see they have some dates with decent redemptions.. is it worthwhile vs just flying direct EWR>TLV? I know it's a subjective question, just curious about peoples thoughts & feedback.
I booked this combination for May '25 with a 55 minute layover one way and 1.5 hours the way back. I doubt that is enough time to get through passport control then back upstairs to go through security although I've done it before gate to gate in 45 minutes. So I booked a fully refundable El Al ticket later that evening as a backup and we'll not check any bags. At least that's the plan.

Saver rates are the same.

for the dates I needed there were only saver rates from EWR .. also EWR is closer to me.. would be cool to fly the 380 at some point though because I've never been on one..I booked LH business class JFK>MUC in August and hopefully they'll use their 380 for that flight 🤞🏻

So you're saying that for the 380 it's worth it but not other aircraft?

The question is for what length of flight is the premium justified? I booked DW in F EWR-ATH simply because J wasn't available.

A JFK flight vs EWR flight is also worth a premium for me. But it boils down to the overall combination of availability and connections. All of those take precedence over an in-flight shower.

EWR-ATH flight was delayed due to a snow storm. The availability of many ATH-TLV flights definitely helped. Especially where I was able to book some on Priceline and get full refund if schedule didn't work.

another thing to consider here is that jfk-mxp is about 3 hours shorter then ewr-ath but still same price, if tlv is final destination its something to consider

If you have your second boarding pass on hand (or you can get it at the transfer desk) there's no need to go thru passport control and go upstairs, since both flights are outside the Schengen area you can go to connections with a quick security check you're by departures.
