amex is considered a revenue ticket even if you use MR to cover the charges
The discussion here is regarding using Emirates points for the most part.

The shower makes the whole thing?
i flew MXP-JFK F and didnt use the shower
so a shower might be important to some and not so important to others. if i was flying that route again (i wouldnt intentionally like last time when i was seeking out F) and both were available i dont know that i would spend for the F

Flew MXP To JFK Biz class after this sukkos.

Both biz and first class get access to the bar.

Kosher food was bad, don’t rely on it.

Shower is fun the first time or super long flights/tight schedule. I usually don't bother with the shower.

I hear ya. I have flown with a shower on IAD-DXB and AUH-JFK and both times were a real mechaya to walk off the plane feeling so refreshed and clean.

Those are much longer flights.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Indeed, but still nice to walk off a place feeling refreshed I'd imagine.

My wife just flew this route w/ a baby, alas in cattle class, and A3 on the ath-tlv leg.

Do we have a master thread yet for the goodies given to kids on flights? Bec the Emirates goodies were something out of the 90s (when I flew as a kid!)... way beyond whatever my kids have gotten on other airlines.

What's the best way to book these EK flights? Directly with skywards?

Update: I checked in at the EK counter in EWR, and the agent had no trouble booking my bag through to TLV on my LY flight even though it's not code shared. Will it actually be there when I arrive? That remains to be seen. But so far so good. Also, this Emirates first-class cabin is soooo cool. And my fellow first class passengers are all chasidim 😊

I asked Aegean about the ability to skip passport control when connecting through Athens and they said to ask the Athens airport. I emailed this question tonight:

We are arriving in Athens Airport from Newark airport on Emirates flight EK210 and then taking Aegen airlines flight labeled as EK4976 to TLV Israel.
We have been in Athens airport before and it's nice, and small but with only a 55 minute layover we want to make our connecting flight.
We understand that we can transit from an extra Schengen flight to another extra Schengen flight by staying airside, going through a transit corridor with a quick security check, and quickly get to our departing gate without going all of the out through passport control with everyone else and back upstairs through security and then through another passport control?
 How do we do that?
--------
Within an hour (at 10 pm Eastern time) the airport answered!!!

Their response:

Dear Mr. Snider,
Regarding your inquiry, kindly be advised that the minimum connecting time from an international (Newark) to another international destination (TLV) is 45 minutes and vice versa. Kindly note that the Minimum Connecting Times only apply if passengers have booked a through-ticket with an airline and any baggage is checked through to their final destination. Aegean and Emirates operate from the same building for arriving and departing flights , the Main Terminal building.

Kindly note that for passengers connecting to another flight & do not hold Schengen visa upon their arrival from their first flight there is a transit area before passport control, where you can print your boarding pass via a web checking machine and proceed without exiting these area to departures level for the gate of your next flight (Kindly note that you need boarding pass in order to proceed to the departure level).

Also about your queries for the proper travel documents entering or departing from Greece or any other clarification regarding the procedure (boarding pass, luggage, transfer assistance) you should contact the airline who will carry you into Greece(We strongly recommend to contact your airline regarding your flight itinerary prior the day of your travel. Airline operators have to ensure that passengers are duly informed before boarding and that they meet the requirements of traveling according to relevant measures in effect at the destination country at the time of travelling ) :

Yes I had two separate tickets and the process was really easy .did a quick screening between flights, didn't need to leave terminal,or go through customs, passport control etc. then did the El Al security screening at the boarding gate
