go to  apple.com/store and on the left side there is a refurb section. Comes with a 1 year apple warranty, in the nice white box. You would never know the difference and you can save 10-15%

prefer new
(box was reference to all the Amazon individual sellers selling 'new' 'just opened to check' etc., with no way to verify)

$100, it was sent as a replacement to my first generation nano. it is new (or refurbished- not sure) and comes with a 90 day warranty

Weird that you got a 5th gen (video) one, as most people got a 6th gen (touch) version, eBay and CL are flooded with them, I recently bought one myself. Perhaps they ran out of 6th gen refurbs?

It is only 8 GB though.
