Lost carry on at MIA
« on: January 27, 2021, 01:19:58 AM »
My friend forgot his carry on in the airport at MIA, he had 2 pairs of tefilin, passport, car keys, Airpods Pro, QC 35s, etc., he came back to the same spot about 30 minutes later, and it was gone. He filed a police report, he checked lost and found and calls them hourly. The airport refuses to check cameras. Does anyone here have any connections to either any supervisor at MIA, or someone that would be able to help? If anyone can brainstorm any ideas or feedback that would also be greatly appreciated.

Usually best is to go to Manager at check in and have them radio in directly to plane gate...

If u go to lost and found they call by phone and it usually dosnt get answered.

If its a few hours then best is to wait to see if it'll show up in lost and found.

If he thinks someone took his suitcase off the plane then he should get them to check the cameras, otherwise if he left it on then its not criminal...

It was on the way out of the airport near transportation, and it has been a week.

So he forgot it in the airport, not on the plane?

I had a similar story a couple of weeks ago ( different airport)
I left a carry on at the curb where i got picked up
I came by a few hours later and the item was not there and not in any of the lost and founds ( airport or airlines)
I was close to giving up when i saw a maintenance person sweeping up and i asked if he knows anything about it he called another guy on his cell and it turns out they took it to a back area ( dont ask me why )
he went and got it for me
what i am trying to say is if you can go back there try to speak to maintenance in that area that it was left  that clean the airport on a constant basis and see if they were there and if not if they can contact someone that was to see if they may have found your item and placed it somewhere
