Anyone here happen to know if the Second Judicial Dept will make me use one of my two tickets on my one-year-old daughter at my swearing in ceremony? DW is coming with DD, but my dad wants to come too.

It's not much of a ceremony and they weren't on top of tickets as I recall, but i did not bring my children (nor would I really recommend it if you don't have to).

Just because US News has said something for a while doesn't mean it's accurate taking more things into consideration than they do (much more than just lsat and gpa medians).

all rankings are flawed, including the business insider one. CLS is clearly #1  ;D

its not that different than how i feel about my yeshiva. people take pride in wherever they went even though they complain like crazy while they are there. but location wise, cls is really the best. and thats all that REALLY matters once u are in the t-14.

I don't think you need to just look at usnews. Look at Supreme Court judges, us presidents etc.

Exactly look at .00000001% of the student body and decide which school is best, because that makes sense :P

Or maybe look at what the average student gets as a job and decide on that?

Impossible to tell. Only stat similar to that is employment rate/# of offers. And none of those r good stats.

Yup. Because 99.9% of YLS grads would get Big Law jobs if they actually wanted one (read: had the balls to withstand the public shaming that goes on at YLS for going straight into the private sector).

That just means that it's hard to call, but if you just focus instead on lesser factors, that's silly.

They're definitely represented in big law. Just look at wachtell, cravath, etc. they have a smaller student body so obviously there will be fewer of them out there.

And as for potus and scotus representing a small portion of the student body, of course that's true but that's because the job openings are so rare. But the fact remains those elite jobs tend to go to Harvard and Yale grads so, again, not sure how you can have a top 5 list and exclude YLS from it.
Not to mention that they have some of the best professors and extremely accomplished students.

Maybe they did the ratings based on neighborhood safety?

@JJ and other Penn students:Their website lists March 1st as the application deadline but also lists March 15th as the deadline to complete the application. Anyone know what is included in the latter deadline?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

If you apply close to deadline, chances are pretty bad on getting in anyway. They've been mailing out acceptances for months.
