It looks a lot better than Northwestern.
It's probably worth going to Univ of Chicago, even if you don't know anyone:

lol of course I would go even if I didn't know anyone but I would I definitely want to talk to someone who went there.
It's pretty much between them, Cls, Hls, and Penn for me at his point so northwestern is basically out. Still waiting to here back from the last 2 though.

Masters from FDU also have CPA and Big 4 tax experience which seems to make a big difference as it seems that a lot of people who underperform their numbers have no work experience.

My interview with Hls sucked so not too hopeful but at least I already have Cls/Uchi as options.

Who wants to come with me to Michigan? Still waiting to hear back from other T14, but at this point that's where it looks like I'll be attending. Very cheap COL for those concerned.

Also for the last poster, UChicago is an amazing school and they're VERY generous with scholarships for a school of their caliber. I think eighty percent of their incoming class get some sort of scholarship. But from speaking with current students there, it seems like the atmosphere is a bit cutthroat and intense, although that's probably the case at most top schools. Also they take more of a theoretical than practical approach, so if you don't like that...

I've heard the atmosphere at UChicago is awful. And not all T14s are super cutthroat. I didn't think Penn was at all.

Approach doesn't matter. Law school doesn't prepare you for practice. I learned more in my first month of work than I did in three years of school.

I was actually waitlisted there lol and I did hear that about Chicago being cutthroat but honestly I don't know how much it matters since their placement is so good anyways.

Also it's not as if Chicago's peer schools have a very different approach.  At most a marginal difference, I'd guess

does that mean that Northwestern is similar to UofChicago in that approach?

I was thinking of like HYSNC, but yes, I would think that a 1L class in Northwestern is perfectly fungible with a 1L class in University of Chicago.

I have Bachelors & Masters Talmudic law degree. Does LSAC calculate both for my GPA?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

It calculates all credits from all schools until the day you got your first degree.

Hi, looking for suggestions on how to improve on the reading comprehension section of the LSAT. The impression I got from the LSAT blogs is that the 170+ scorers generally do not have any issues with the reading comp section. I'm asking as a yeshiva guy, who hasn't done much high level reading in the past. I specifically want to know if those of you who scored 170+ were able to master this section, or did you focus more on perfecting the LR and LG?

Reading comp was my worst section. Regularly got 12 wrong when I started. Key to improvement is (1) to slow down, and (2) to read as many as you can get your hands on with explanations. Essentially, you start subconsciously thinking like the test makers and paying attention to the things they care about. That said, it's the hardest section to improve on. Good luck!

Edit* Someone's pointed out the deficiency above.  I improved 15 points from my first "cold" score and got a 180 on the actual exam. While I'm always hesitant to share that, I think 5 years out of law school makes it OK in a DDF discussion about how to prep? Tell me if I'm wrong and I'll run away in shame...

Is it even possible to pay sticker at Cls and afford a frum lifestyle even if you get biglaw?

I got about one year tuition as a scholarship, but graduated with $198k in debt (two kids in law school). B'H, hasn't been too hard. Spent most of my bonus money paying them down though (especially the ones at %8+ interest).
