-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.
Hermolis  also have a deli counter there.  The range includes schnitzels, spring rolls, kebabs, breaded lamb chops, chicken wings, fish products and salads. Traditional Shabbat dishes will be on sale on Thursdays and Fridays. Supervision is provided by the Kashrut Division London Beth Din
In the City Munch'n'Crunch have a stand in Hatton Garden with kosher meals, sandwiches, sushi and coffee. It is located at 32 Hatton Garden, on the lower-ground floor of Jewellery Emporium. There is also Mincha there at 1:30.

-Kosher food at non-kosher hotels, restaurants etc. can be ordered from the following kosher caterers in London. They provide double-wrapped meals to any location and could also match the menu of your location.

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

Is the transfer from LHR to LGW complicated?
Seems like theres only a shuttle bus…
Has anyone done this before? Any recommendations?

Anyone use a luggage storage service in LHR? Do they close or they're open all night?

Going to London for two days, staying in West End. Based on previous posts, I know that there are DD (Hermolis) sandwiches available in the Airport and in various stores, as well as kosher food at Selfridges.

Wondering from anyone's recent experiences how much I can rely on this? Hoping not to schlep too much food, but don't want to starve. Don't either want to have to schlep to GG or Stamford Hill with such limited time.

I was there a few weeks ago. Selfridges had a few sandwiches that were expiring that day. I found a  decent selection of fresh DD sandwiches at WH in departures area of terminal 2. I went into a few of the stores in the West End area that were supposed to be carrying DD sandwiches based on the list on Hermoles website and none had.  I ended up just getting a few days of food from Tony Page and a few grocery items in a regular store off the LBD list plus fruit and vegetables.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like I shouldn't rely on finding sandwiches. Good to know that there were plenty in the Airport. Hopefully I can find some sandwiches there in Arrivals.

If not, Tony Page food was good and they wrapped it well. LBD glatt but obviously more expensive than DD sandwiches.

The offering in Selfridges is very small compared to what it was a few years ago. There is usually a decent selection of DD sandwiches in the
John Lewis food hall which is 5 mins walk from Selfridges.

Alternative there’s always Reubens on Baker St

Day stopover in London. We're thinkin to do this (and take the ferry from Big Ben to Tower of London):

Anyone have any input what to skip or what else to add?
Is it worth paying for the Tower of London (to see the jewels) or Tower Bridge's glass walkway?

TIA

There last night. It’s a real old school deli (reminds me of Essen in Flatbush), food is delicious and portions are huge. Seems like downstairs is reserved for events. Also, was very busy we didn’t book a table but were lucky to be fit in unlike others who didn’t get seated

Would skip trafalgar as there’s not much there I was there a few yrs ago had a bunch of street performers and more happening, but apparently that was stopped now just the statue (of which London has no shortage). Would recommend going to the Eye instead and ferrying from there to the tower/bridge. The jewels are stunning and def worth it if it’s something you would appreciate.
