General Information

-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.
Hermolis  also have a deli counter there.  The range includes schnitzels, spring rolls, kebabs, breaded lamb chops, chicken wings, fish products and salads. Traditional Shabbat dishes will be on sale on Thursdays and Fridays. Supervision is provided by the Kashrut Division London Beth Din
In the City Munch'n'Crunch have a stand in Hatton Garden with kosher meals, sandwiches, sushi and coffee. It is located at 32 Hatton Garden, on the lower-ground floor of Jewellery Emporium. There is also Mincha there at 1:30.

-Kosher food at non-kosher hotels, restaurants etc. can be ordered from the following kosher caterers in London. They provide double-wrapped meals to any location and could also match the menu of your location.

Minyanim - There are many shuls all over London, however there are a couple of places that have more constant Minyanim throughout the day.

Here is a list of addresses and zmanim for the above, and other places.

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

There's a great community in Golders Green (in fact 2 of them), both shuls are about a 15 minute walk from the holiday inn I mentioned above (in opposite directions). If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I just remembered the name. They call it a "holiday inn express". I wouldn't expect anything special, never been there myself but I heard it's pretty good.

The only advantage the NYC subway has is that it runs 24 hours.
The London underground stops around midnight and resumes around 6am.
Buses are very limited throughout the night. Check it up before you plan anything big for the night.

IIRC some say it's not very safe to go on the bus at night? not sure if it's antisemetism related or just bad neighborhoods

So i booked arriving 12/27 9:30am departing 12/30 9pm. Sunday morning to Tuesday evening. What are my must see cant miss. These are my thoughts:
1. Buckingham
2. London Bridge
3. Big Ben
4. British Museum
5. London Eye.
Want to go to Stonehenge too. Anything else for me is a bonus. Never been out of LHR so please tell me what i must see.

Do Matt's tour of changing of the guard.

Big Ben doesn't have anything to do, just see, which you can do from the  London Eye just across the river.

The Tower of London (and the Crown Jewels) is cool and right near Tower Bridge (the one you're thinking of is not called London Bridge: the old London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, AZ).

The British Museum is just a museum, if you like those things, but that maybe good on a cold, rainy, winter day.

The London Dungeons are also supposedly cool and are literally right next to the London Eye as well.

The Harry Potter studio tour is way cooler than Stonehenge.

As I've said before, Windsor Castle is way underrated. It's out of London, but has easy access by rail from Paddington Station.
