Re Kidzania - they're not really alone - during the sessions when they're being "trained" or "working" at jobs, they're in a little storefront or room with other kids in that session and the parents stand outside - you can see right in through big "store" windows!

It's literally a little kids's town - the kids run around choosing where they want to go and the parents just follow them!
It does look neat, but I just can't see him doing these things without one of us (or at least a friend) by his side:

Quote
DDFB response:

You left out Bet Hamadras in Hendon. Best restaurant. Period. Sami's is 10000x better than White House and better service IMO. Nothing special about SoYo.

But this article fails to mention that if you're outside NW London do not wear a kippah. If you are staying in the center of London you are a 35 min train ride to the kosher area (only two restaurants in the center) You'd be hard pressed to find an English person in town. Its basically Eastern European and Islamabad (more the latter). There are more license plates from Kuwait and Qatar in hotel parking lots than from GB. I enjoy Krakow over London any day. (Bring back saffron. Super cheap there)
I don't even see Bet Hamadras in the Wiki?
Looks like it's KF: http://www.beithamadras.co.uk/

Any reviews?

Should I be wearing a baseball cap in London as I did in Paris?

London does not feel the same like Paris. Paris is the only place in Europe where I felt a need to hide my identity, can't say the same for London.

Interesting. While I wore a cap throughout Europe, London was the only place I felt uncomfortable. Maybe that's because I stayed on the West End. Literally around the corner from the Shul/Marriott, you feel like you're in the Arab shuk.

I personally never hide my identity while traveling. However, when it came to Paris the perception on DDF is you're going to get killed in Paris if you look like a Jew and could be that's the reason I felt uncomfortable. As for London, I've been there many times even traveling through the city by myself with hat and jacket and never felt uncomfortable.

+1. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all in London. Truth is I didn't feel uncomfortable in Paris either and saw many people not wearing hats in the street, yet because of all the safety hype I wore a hat there.

I haven't been to Paris in the last six years so I can't tell you about that.
In London it's absolutely safe to walk around anywhere with a Yarmulka. I've been all around London with a hat and jacket.
There are some neighborhoods where you might feel a little uncomfortable without a cap like near Edgware Road station (not to be confused with the Jewish neighborhood "Edgware" North of London) or willesdon, but I wouldn't say that it's unsafe by any means.

Kaifeng has good chinese food and ambiance. However, they are a little overpriced. SoYo, whilst not a gourmet restaurant has great variety and good food. As for the other two, I haven't been so I can't comment. As mentioned, La Fiesta is a good option as well, however it's more about the meat than "fluff", so you'll be limited with apps and sides.

If you want to combine shopping with food (motzei shabbos) Brent Cross Shopping Centre has a couple of  department stores - Marks and Spencer, John Lewis, Fenwick - and a milchig place, Kanteen (check if they are open motzash if you decide to go then).
Interesting. While I wore a cap throughout Europe, London was the only place I felt uncomfortable. Maybe that's because I stayed on the West End. Literally around the corner from the Shul/Marriott, you feel like you're in the Arab shuk.
There is an overabundance of Muslims of all types in London. However they are not generally from the poorer end of society as is the case in Paris and therefore not as angry (if that makes sense). There are plenty of Jewish people that walk past one of the most radical mosques in London without a problem.

Of course one should always be aware of their surroundings, but you don't have to walk around in fear.

I thought no cap would help me either, but people came up to me and started talking in Arabic. Though my lack of lange payos helps I suppose.

Happens to my cousin all the time. He's very dark-skinned, so people think he's Muslim all the time.
