-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

LCY is the closest to Central London and the cheapest by public transportation and by taxi. Next is probably LHR both for public transportation and by taxi. After that would probably go STN, LTN then LGW but I'm not sure.

Is it worth paying more (50$ difference) for a ticket to LHR based on this difference?

Which airport is $50 more?
What's your preferred method of transportation?
How many passengers?

LHR is 50$ more than LGW
Don’t really have a preferred method. Just don’t want it to be a hassle
A couple

So you'd be saving $100 flying into LGW.

Your transportation costs won't be $100 more than if you'll be landing in LHR.
However, if you go by taxi it'll definitely be significantly longer time (double check with Google maps) and if you go by train it'll be more time but may be less of a hassle if your location in Central London is near one of the 3 stations with direct trains to LGW.

5-6 hours from landing to take off?

I once had a 5 hour stopover in LHR.
It was just enough time to drive to GG, be there for 20 minutes, and drive back to LHR.

The tube will take an hour to get into main London (from LHR) but you can take the Heathrow express which takes 15 minutes to Paddington station. From there you may be able to do a few things before needing to run back to the airport. The only question really is with customs which can take literally forever.

Not sure i understand though.
LGW to central london is longer by taxi than what?
And train is longer than taxi but less hassle if hotel is near station?

LGW is further than LHR.

If traveling by taxi, it's the same hassle only more money (although less than $100 difference) and more time.
If traveling by train/tube, LGW will be more time and probably more money (although not $100 more). As far as hassle, it depends if you'll have to change trains. If your going to somewhere where there's a direct train from LGW but not from LHR, LGW will be more money and time but perhaps less hassle.
