-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

I stayed at the Andaz and took the Tube to GG for dinner. Wasnt a shlep at all as the Tube station is right out the Andaz' front door. Was a great experience staying there too. Well worth the price then. I dont know what it costs now.

The tube is properly around 35 - 40 minutes but puts you out right on Golders Green road.

I'm going for about a week, so at this point, I'm debating just getting an Airbnb in the eruv. Even if I stayed downtown, I would have to move for shabbos anyway.

Not sure how practical travelling round-trip 40 minutes each way for dinner is going to be.

Going with a toddler so I can do much less per day than I think. I had booked an itinerary to go to BCN, fly to London and then back to NYC, but I'm wary of all that travel with a toddler.

We will probably do a day trip to the beach coast, and minus shabbos, we are essentially on the ground M-F (so 4 days in London and one on the coast).

Ideally I would pepper in a day or 2 in Paris, but unfortunately, DW won't go to France right now. Is there anywhere else a reasonable distance by train worth it to go? Scotland and Ireland seem too far.

I have to take a week off work anyway, and I'd rather have downtime somewhere new than just go for a shorter trip.

Did a week in AMS last year. For Antwerp, I looked into it a year ago, didn't seem like there was a ton to do.

Could be nice for a Shabbos+, no?

Possibly... That would have me in london from sun night - Thurs, travel to Antwerp  Thursday (~3 hr  train), Thursday evening - Sunday AM in Antwerp, fly out of LHR Sunday afternoon. This is the summer so Friday has plenty of time, and shabbos afternoon walks are valuable.

Alternatively, if I rebook my flight by midnight,  I can fly out of AMS for an extra $100 pp and tack a day on to have the full day Sunday in Antwerp.

Decisions, decisions.

Is Antwerp an objectively nicer place to spend shabbos than Golders Green or Hendon, or the suggestion is to avoid travel fatigue in London?

Dw decided she doesn't want to take 2 trains with 2-3 suitcases, a stroller, and a carseat. Thanks for the ideas, maybe another time. A week in London it is!

I just stayed in London from Monday night - thurs night, with 2 kids - ages 2 1/2 & 3 1/2. We stayed at the Marriott marble arch. There’s a shul less than a 5 min walk, Selfridges with their hermolis kosher food stand is also close by. It’s a bit closer to GG & Hendon than other parts of the city & the one time we took an Uber from GG back to our hotel it cost about 18£. (Not sure why somebody said earlier it cost them 140£ for a ride to the city… even further in shouldn’t be that much more.) We brought some food with us & ate out for dinner, although we could have easily gotten sandwiches anywhere throughout the city for lunch.

Tues - we did the London eye & aquarium. Went back to hotel & walked to reubens for dinner.
Wed - fun London tours changing of the guards & Tower of London. Took a train from the city to hummus bar in GG for dinner.
Thurs - walked around hotel area stores, picked up food from selfridges & swimming in hotel b4 heading to airport.
We wanted to do Windsor but weren’t sure it would work out with timing & the kids so we just skipped.

We used the national rail discount for the attractions we did.

If anybody has any questions feel free to pm me or reply here

Apart from the supermarkets which sell DD sandwiches, yes.

Not surprising. So many restaurants have tried their luck there but just not enough passing trade. I thought it was a seasonal restaurant anyway.
