-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.
Hermolis  also have a deli counter there.  The range includes schnitzels, spring rolls, kebabs, breaded lamb chops, chicken wings, fish products and salads. Traditional Shabbat dishes will be on sale on Thursdays and Fridays. Supervision is provided by the Kashrut Division London Beth Din
In the City Munch'n'Crunch have a stand in Hatton Garden with kosher meals, sandwiches, sushi and coffee. It is located at 32 Hatton Garden, on the lower-ground floor of Jewellery Emporium. There is also Mincha there at 1:30.

-Kosher food at non-kosher hotels, restaurants etc. can be ordered from the following kosher caterers in London. They provide double-wrapped meals to any location and could also match the menu of your location.

Zmanim - MyZmanim London

Minyanim - There are many shuls all over London, however there are a couple of places that have more constant Minyanim throughout the day.

Here is a list of addresses and zmanim for the above, and other places.

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

I liked isola bella, which had a huge selection of sandwiches, then there is supposed to be a place calles Solys (no idea how to spell it) and there you need to be upstairs, so much to stories I was told.

Sollys Upstairs is now Downstairs, I think the Upstairs is a party room if anything

Also no CCs at the fast bar and really no place to sit and eat it as there was yrs ago.

however The White House from Hendon has opened on GGR near where the Underground crosses over the street and has tables and a counter its Fast Food only unlike Hendon

Do your homework properly as London is huge. I believe some 30k streets.
In case you want, in 2 hours by train you are in Paris or Brussels (add 55 mins for Antwerp, and another 1:20 for Amsterdam).

Isola Bella are also opening a new branch in the Westfield shopping center, which is a new, very fancy mall not far from the west end.
I'm not sure exactly when they're opening, but it should be sometime soon.

Quote
...Finally, Israeli chef Leor Nissim is opening Café Isola Bella – the centre’s first fully kosher restaurant. This latest venture will be the flagship venue in a chain of specialist boutique restaurants which already comprises three well established restaurants in North West London. World renowned architects and designers have collaborated to create a stunning new bar, café and restaurant which will be located within the Village, overlooking the Southern Terrace.

Leor Nissim said: “Café Isola Bella Westfield will be very special. The interior has been designed by one of the most talented design teams in Israel, and their attention to detail has helped to ensure this restaurant will be the ideal daytime haven for shopaholics, their friends and children, and a great leisure venue late into the evening. It’s not only the décor that will be special though, the food will be of the very highest order too.

“I fully expect Café Isola Bella Westfield to establish a reputation as the finest luxury kosher dining experience, unrivalled for quality or value anywhere in Europe.”

"All of the new restaurants will be opening between now and the summer."

thanks nice to know but it wont be walkable from the West End Zone 1 area. Its by the White City tube stop . Its 5-6 stops after Marnle Arch which is the last stop in Zone 1.

still nice to know it will be there but Ill stick with Reubens when staying DT

I think you're referring to Mattancherry which is on GGR, right under the tracks. It is a very nice place, but make sure that you/everyone travelling with you enjoys Indian cuisine; it might be a bit too hot for some.... Also it is under Kedassia supervision (very rare for restaurants in London), which is considered the very "frum" hechsher around there....

about the same as Midtown Manhattan to Flatbush

bus #13 or I think alos the 82 goes down (or up depends how you see it) Glouster St which I believe the Churchill is on or at least has an Entrance to

The 13 terminates at the GG Underground station the 82 passes it , so it will be out the right side window of the bus. Then after getting off head to your left off the 82 or Right if you took the 13 to its last stop. (the GG station is on GGR) Id say apx 1/2 hr ride go up to the top level and enjoy the views

most buses are double deckers so its great sitting up top in the 1st ro you see everything

Double stroller??? are U... , maybe on a Sat but I cant ever remember seeing a double anywhere on the streets in London then maybe you are Muslim and will have your wife walk behind you.

would u go to Times Sq or walk along 5th ave with a ds? I sure wouldnt let alone try to tackle Public Transport

Its hard enough trying to get a single stroller onto the bus forget about a double

just my opinion but why the heck would you submit yourself to such a trip? i understand it if you didnt have any kids, left the kids with yur parents or in-laws etc etc but if the kids wont remember anything whats the pt except that You want to go, theres very little that really is for a kid that cant walk and its own meaning being say 6+ and thats probably too young.

Go to a place thats is kid friendly = no Major city anywhere, more like a resort or find a place to park them or bring someone to where you live and they hit the road with ONLY your wife

yes once by the Underground station in gg you can walk to most restaurants that are in gg but I dont remember the last time I saw a stroller in any of them

what U want to do is what you should hav edone before you started having kids or do after they are grown, I dont think its right schelping kids around the world so that Mommy & Daddy can see places they havent as yet or when the youngest is able to understand where they are going and what they are seeing

So a hotel in Miami or DisneyWorld is workable but a major world city is anything but and its not equiped for it either,IMO not taht U asked

????

had yare said from get go they were gonna be traveling with more then 1 kid and a ds ,I would have saved myself alot of time

Bout the only Country that I think a person can tackle is Israel since the buses etc can handle a ds and people generally will be lending a hand to help them on and off etc etc

but In My Opinion, most of The Worlds major cities will be a major hassle with a ds or a couple of kids+.

On the other hand places were people dont generally walk on the streets in mass, should be doable, but most likely such places wont be on anyones radar for a Must visit

Then theres the actual subjecting the kid/s to what most likely will be a very bored and trying day/s, why do that just so that you can see what those w/o kids are able to . It would something else to a lesser extent if the kids were older, no stroller needed nor diapers and youd go to places that would be kid friendly a zoo, Disneyland, but i highly doubt that the Downtown areas of any Major city will be a place a kid would want to see.just my 2 cents.

So we're going to be in London for 24 hours in December.
Arriving at about 7am, and we've got a wedding in the evening at LHR and an 8am flight out, so I guess I'll be sleeping at an LHR hotel.
Any SPG LHR recommendations?

I was in London some 7 years ago and we did the tower of london and the changing of the guards.
Anything else worth doing? Maybe a tour of buckingham palace?
Kosher food (lunch) recommendations in any tourist areas?

We're flying DFW-LHR in BA F.  Are there any lounges we can get into upon arrival?
We're flying LHR-AMS in BA J the next morning.  Think we'll be able to access the F lounge do to being on an F connection?  I've had luck with that with LH and LX in FRA, MUC, and ZRH, never tried in LHR though.
Do you have to order Hermolis meals these days in the lounge or do they have them on hand?

The London Eye is pretty cool. Although, its kinda pricey...
