-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports and stations and at some supermarkets around London.  Check here for a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City -
Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701.
Hermolis  also have a deli counter there.  The range includes schnitzels, spring rolls, kebabs, breaded lamb chops, chicken wings, fish products and salads. Traditional Shabbat dishes will be on sale on Thursdays and Fridays. Supervision is provided by the Kashrut Division London Beth Din
In the City Munch'n'Crunch have a stand in Hatton Garden with kosher meals, sandwiches, sushi and coffee. It is located at 32 Hatton Garden, on the lower-ground floor of Jewellery Emporium. There is also Mincha there at 1:30.

-Kosher food at non-kosher hotels, restaurants etc. can be ordered from the following kosher caterers in London. They provide double-wrapped meals to any location and could also match the menu of your location.

R' Chuna's (Beth Shmuel Synagogue)

-Minyan in the West End could be found at the Marble Arch Synagogue. Shacharis during the week is followed by breakfast, and a kiddush on Shabbos.

-Most food products in general stores do not have a hechsher on them. This does not necessarily mean they are not kosher. For example, Coca-Cola does not have a hechsher, but it is kosher. Here is an online kosher product search that could help. Link to Android app.

Oh, the views are great. It was a super clear day when I was there, but it takes 30 minutes just for it to make one revaluation and you don't need that long. Maybe if it was a lot cheaper it would be worth it. Also there were no crowds when I was there. It was February.

I've already confirmed they'll do the changing of the guard on the day I'm there (it's on odd days now FWIW), and the weather is supposed to be beautiful.

I guess I'll do breakfast in GG at SoYo, changing of guard at Buckingham Palace, lunch at Zest in JCC, and then London Eye, and then back to the Cabanas in LHR.

Anyone know if BA F offers kosher meals in lounge?

Be sure to show up early. I got there a 1/2 hour early (appx) and I couldn't get a spot with a view of anything. Nice find with Zest - no one mentioned that place when I was there in the summer. Was told the only Kosher place in town is Reuben's. All reviews here say London Eye wasn't worth it. Perhaps consider doing the London Dungeons?

+1. & they had the nerve to cancel after confirming it for that day & making the hundreds of tourists wait over an hour. The Eye is probably a good time to be online/check emails.

Doh, I didn't mean London Eye... I meant tower of London.

Thanks for the heads up, but I hope to be there about an hour early.

Ah, okay. Tower of London was fun and not just the Crown Jewels. Good choice.

Good luck. I have no idea how early is early enough, just that 1/2 hour is not. :)

So, I got their "famous" beef sandwich (forgot the name they have for it) and it was good. Not the best sandwich in the world, but good. However, their prices were ridiculous. I don't remember the cost of the sandwich but we also got Shabbos food from them and for 2-3 Challah rolls, a bottle of grape juice that turned out to be the Shalach Manos-sized bottle, and 2 shnitzels, and 1 or 2 sides (I forgot exactly) we paid over 60GBP = ~$100 at the rate then.

Overpriced indeed, although when I once went with a friend of mine on Mivtzoim (he went to that neighborhood every Friday) they always offered him a free drink and a soup.

BTW there is a changing of the guard tour that my wife and I did in London and it was really a fun way to see it. It's led by a very energetic and interesting fellow named Matt and he basically takes on a walking tour starting from where the guards get ready then you march alongside them to where they switch, etc.... You get to see alot more than standing in front squished with loads of people. And it was pretty cheap (for London standards at least). Here is a link to his website:
http://www.funlondontours.com/london-walking-tours/changing-the-guard

As far as Reubens-true it was really expensive but it was right in line with everything else in London-I got the pastrami burger and it was really delicious.
