I'd like some input on the three routing options I'm looking at.
Kinda urgent as its for this week

I need to arrive in MLE on Friday morning.

Itinerary #1 - flying time 23 hrs. Total duration 37.5 hr
55k AA + $217  or 67.5k aa +no additional
JFK-HKG on CX J
(1:50 hr layover)
HKG-BKK  on CX economy
(6 hr layover )
BKK-CMB on CX J
(7 hour night layover - hotel in airport.)
CMB-MLE on UL economy.

Itinerary #2 - flying time 28 hr, total duration 34.5 hr
Should be 67.5k
JFK-HKG on CX J
(4:30 hr layover)
HKG-DOH on CX J
(2:30 hr layover)
DOH-MLE on QR J

Itinerary #3 -  flying time 22.5 hr, total duration  26 hr
55k or 67.5k (I'm not sure)
JFK-HKG on CX J
(3.5 hr layover)
HKG-MLE on CX J

This option arrives Thursday night which means we'll need to take a hotel in the Male  area - not to excited about that because of recent situations.

So i underestimated the price on these itineraries.

itin 1 - is 77.5k to MLE or  55k AA to CMB + 4.5k Avios to MLE

itin 2 is 110k AA !

itin 3 is 85k AA

it seems like ill do the third option and stay in some hotel. - will decide tomorrow morning - waiting to see what AS miles will cost for that itin

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but seems most appropriate.

Going to Europe in July and trying to figure out an interesting itinerary, including an interesting place for Shabbos.

So far:

Landing in Paris July 10 early AM
Leaving from Dublin July 19 after lunch

Have previously visited: London, Paris, Amsterdam

Preferences: Cities like Paris/Amsterdam where we can have a few highlights to key in on, but otherwise wander the streets and just let things surprise us.

Some thoughts I had as options:

(1) 7/10: Arrive Paris, day in Paris; 7/11: Fly to Vienna in am. Vienna until 7/12 pm. Train or fly to Prague. Prague 7/12-14.  7/14 fly to Paris for Shabbat, Sunday. Mon 7/17: Fly to Dublin, until flight home 7/19.

(2)  Same as (1) except skip Prague and stay longer in Vienna.

(3) Same as (1) except go to Berlin for Shabbat instead of Paris.

Those are just a few off the top of my head. Anyone have some thoughts on those, or opinion on another itinerary? Would be grateful to hear of nice places to spend Shabbos.

Thanks!

Prague, vienna or budapest are as good as any place to spend shabbos. Kosher options available in each city with shuls and hotels no issue. Flight options to DUB from each city.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Can also consider Italy as Venice is great for Shabbos. Switzerland is great as well. Spain and then Gibraltar for Shabbos. I mean there are so many options in Europe that have a few highlights and general wandering around... you gotta decide what countries you want to visit.

Thanks for the input! Do you have a preference as between Shabbos in Vienna vs. Prague? Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Totally! I think we are going to target Vienna/Prague/Paris/Dublin, so Shabbos closer to one of those cities is best to save distance on later travel, but was curious to see if someone steered me in another direction based on their experience.

For example, I know there is an increased Israeli presence in Berlin, so thought that might be interesting for Shabbos. Not sure I want to go South to Italy or Spain on this trip.

Thank you both!

Benjie, I've been reading your helpful additions in the Vienna thread, I hope you don't mind if I reach out to you there as I start planning in more detail.
