am looking to purchase a GPS with maps of USA and Canada
every time I think I am ready to purchase one, I read the reviews and get scared off
need simple GPS - no bells and whistles - with updated maps and clear directions that will get me where I want to go
any suggestions?

go for a garmin...shouldn't cost more than $100 and is simple, reliable and clear
