Nice! It's worth it just for the look on their faces when in the pitch of night a car pulls up and hands them a pie....#priceless

I once went down with a bunch of friends. We stocked up on all sorts of snacks and drinks, when we got to the checkpoint it was about 1/2 hour before sunrise. We pulled over there and chilled for about 20- 25 min. before we continued on, they probably had the best night on duty that night.  :D

especially if the drinks were...shall we say...a bit harder than soft :)

i thought they did away with permits and you can park inside if there is room? if not, just call the office of the rabbi at the western wall. i think it's called moreshet hakotel....

Believe it or not, I was pretty serious in the mir, but sometimes layl shishi se would drive to ein bokek, and be back for nets.

We made a mangal and the works.

Once an huge army jeep pulled up (those open ones where soldiers sit on the outside), and we fed them until they were over full.

What started with: "Ma atem osim po?!!!" ,ended with hugs.

It was very nice.

If its for a one off here and there, you can sweet talk them to let you in, works for me usually unless when very full.

I've given stuff to soldiers all the time, once in a while they won't take anything cause its against the rules. Usually happens when they're actually cops, but IIRC happened once or twice with soldiers too

I know someone who tried being all geshmak with the soldiers by the check point he told them to let him in and he'll daven for them. A few minuted later he was arrested by cops and accused of harassing the female soldiers. He tried making believe he didn't understand anything it didn't work. Askanim had to get him out of trouble.

I was in middle of parking outside the Kotel this morning next to the bus stop...there was no sign that said it wasn't legal to park there...a very kind passerby told me that it still was illegal to the tune of 500 shekel and so i quickly headed to the parking lot!

....And sure enough on my way out, the policeman was making his morning rounds :(
