Looking for a Double Stroller
« on: July 17, 2012, 01:30:48 PM »
preferably one that:
-has a decent size basket
-children sit side by side
-can be used for both a newborn and a 2-3 year old
-rides well in snow

Any other important considerations I am missing?

Other than the fact that the basket is not easily accessible, city mini double
Missing-folds nicely
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Interesting that they do not have the Citi Mini Elite which seems pretty good except for the price

I was recently in BubBuyBaby for in store comparison of some double strollers, here's what I learned
  • City Mini 2011 -
    Pros=very light, easy fold
cons= Inaccessible basket and the seat is much like a hammock no board and no padding.
    $400
  • City Mini GT
Pros= accessible basket firm and padded seats no maintenance long lasting foam filled tires
Cons = heavier then the reg mini and expensive
    $580
  • soon to be released City Mini 2012
Pros= fixes the basket issue also adds a board to the seats. still a light stroller
cons= still no padding and the wheels arent as good as the GT
  • Britax B Agile double stroller
Pros= padding similar to the GT, accessible basket, weighs about the same as the reg CM, cheaper then the rest
cons= tires also arent as good as the GT
    $370 on amazon
Worth noting is that all the mentioned strollers have the same type of easy fold mechanism that City has become known for
also if anyone has any corrections or anything to add feel free

Does consumer report claim to be exhaustive? (I assume that it's not really possible  :-\

Not at all.
They haven't even tested the UB Vista.
