Rumor has it that another great "Meat" place is opening up soon too.
Rumor has it that the same guys opening the meat place are opening a high end coffee and bakery place too, though I expect that you know more about that than me.

Bouef and bun sucks! I waited for Thirty mins the other night it's not worth it. They should take reservations and make a Seder in that place. I would rather spend a half hour in a car and arrive somewhere where I have a reservation and get a table right away.

No, he's not exactly sure when he'll open to the public. He's staying pretty busy as it is.

Went to Izzy's last night with a reservation thought the gkr website. The brisket and turkey was amazing, candied sweet potato was out of this world, the smoked beans with brisket was also good but it's really spicy.
For dessert I got the chocolate pecan pie, or was good but not something you can't get elsewhere.  Overall the prices are pretty good and the food is outstanding, Sruly has pride in his food and works hard to serve his customers.

Meh. I'm not about to beg, sorry.
I spoke to Sruly about not replying to you, he said that he's so busy with the soft opening and doesn't have the time to reply to all his messages and calls, he showed me on his phone that he has 130 missed calls. He said you should reserve through Elan Kornblum who he hired to run the soft opening reservations.

Wings are some of the best I've ever had! They are smoked, fried, and then sauced to crispy perfection. (Second best were the Maple glazed wings at maple grill in YVR)

Agreed! He was walking around and schmoozing with everyone. When I told him I'm an amateur smoker, he got all excited and started giving me tips. He also gave out some "burnt ends" which he was experimenting with. Out of this world!

Next round in going to try the wings and ribs (which he was out of)

Agreed! He was walking around and schmoozing with everyone.
I also schmoozed his mother who was running the seating. She explained to me why they were out of ribs, she said that there's only so many ribs available to buy and whatever meat he gets that which doesn't reach his standards he sends strait back. They make it very clear from the beginning that there will be days that they will sell out early of certain things.

I also told him that I wasn't very impressed by the pulled brisket sandwich that I got by the popup but tonight I loved everything, he was happy to hear real honest feedback.

I had the opportunity to be in CH for a day for a DO the week they did a gkr dinner, before they were open to gkr reservations.

At any rate it seems he'll do just fine without the 280K DD uniques from a sneak preview post. Hopefully he expands the seating area.

Hopefully he expands the seating area.
He wanted to pay the guy in the suit store next door to move to the storefront on the left of Izzy's, the guy in the suit store doesn't want to move so Sruly will have to take the storefront on the left side and use it for himself which will be tough because he has two staircases between both stores, so he'll have to be creative.

Ribs were amazing! I bought one to take home for Friday night. He also mentioned that ribs are hard to come by. The problem with a smoke house is that it takes 18 hours to smoke a brisket and not so much shorter for ribs so if you have a surge of guests, you can't just quickly cook more.
I suggested a smoked brisket sandwich on a kaiser roll with some of that awesome slaw and he seemed to like the idea. I also suggested sorbet as a palate cleanser but he wasn't as keen.
