AFAIK, the only time you do the bris later is if there will be more people. As people tend to need to go to work, I wish to do it before 9.
IME when you do it midday or evening, you are much more likely to have a minyan for bentching, than at 8am when people are rushing to leave.
While I might be an outlier here in Crown Heights, from what I hear afternoon/evening brisn are the common practice in Kfar Chabad.
