CO HNL Upgrades

Hey Dan, Trying to book a ticket from NYC-HNL on CO. Confused about upgrading on the HNL leg. Are you eligable for an upgrade as a platinum onepass member on the direct flight? Or better to have a stop over in Houston? Would I be eligable for an upgrade on both legs then? Or is it better to take United routes and stopover in LAX or CHI? Thanks for any help you can give...

No free upgrades on Business First serviced flights including those through IAH. Last I checked, free upgrades were only available on CO service out of California
