Signed up for the chase ba card and chase contacted me that they need a utility bill under my name and a copy of my social security card. Has anyone ever been asked for a copy of their card ?

happened with me and att. they asked me for a copy of my license and utility bill. It is to confirm your address

amex asked me to fax my drivers license, ss card, notarized signature and a utility bill (which i didnt have, so a 1099 instead.)

well, i couldnt find my ss card so i called them and they said the 1099 should cover that too. but then i got a letter from the bank that they dont issue 1099s for earnings of less than $10, and the other bank doesnt issue 1099s other than automatically around tax times, so....

and i went around to 3 banks to notarize a signature (they told me it has to be at by a bank) and none of them will do it.

but i activated the card they sent me and it is in my online profile, i havent used it yet b/c i dont have the card just the number until i get back home. they said 15 days, that was yesterday
