Trashtalking? That is an interesting view you have of this especially when one looks at your first comment I quoted.

You're trashtalking when you question my post (ShopDiscover question) where I was responding with my experience to someone who specifically asked for personal experiences (see the OP in that thread).

I was just responding to you in-kind.

!! :-(

I don't know what you're talking about. How would the timing of a credit inquiry hitting your account affect your average age of accounts?

Cuz if you wait 30 days between 1 app and the 2nd, by the time of your second app, your first one already shows up as an account

If it's the same bank then they can (typically) see your existing accounts regardless of whether the new accounts have hit your credit. Besides, BofA new accounts show up on your credit much sooner than 30 days (IME), so your point is wrong in the case of BofA regardless.

Even its from the same bank and (youre right that) they could see your new accounts, but I dont belive they count it in the age of credit calculation which is in IMHO entirely based on your CR. My point is right even withh BofA, but in shorter period of time. The 30 day was just an example.

If you have adequate credit, average age of accounts shouldn't be an issue IME. The purpose of an AOR (IMHO) is still to dodge inquiries from various banks seeing eachother, and when all apps are done at the closest possible proximity it should still work.

Afaik the age of credit is the formula of about %35 of your credit score

15% for FICO. I'm under the impression that Chase uses a modified vantage score, one of the main benefits of this score is:

Quote
Know Exactly Where Your Credit Stands Using VantageScore

Maintain a good financial history and make informed credit decisions. By using your VantageScore, you will get a more consistent, predictive and accurate score. A more consistent grading scale also means an improved system for rating consumers with poor credit or with a short credit history. Knowing your score can help you negotiate with lenders — which could save you thousands of dollars over the life of a loan.

Here's the source, based on the pie chart on that page, it's either insignificant or not a factor at all.

Chase 3bm: CO OPP, UA MPE, SP=over 100K CO/UA and over 56K UR after spending $3K total.  The UR can go to CO/UA or Hyatt, etc.

AMEX 3bm: SPG, PRG, Plat=54K MR (plus $200 in airline gcs and free lounge access for 4 years and free Global Entry/Nexus for Canada) plus 10K SPG after spending $4K total or plus 30K SPG after spending $9K total.

Thanks! So I just checked my credit report thru american express (yes i agreed to pay $1!) and my score is 781 in all 3 bureaus. (Is that good or great?) So you think I'll get accepted for all 6 cards? What is the total spend I need to do for all 6 cards? I only see chase sapphire is $3k within the first 3 months and PRG $2k in 3 months . My other issue is that as I mentioned above, I have the SPG. I'm confused why you suggested I open it up again. Am I able to? Thanks for your help! (Do you get bonuses for each referral? I hope so!)

Also, why did you suggest the Amex Platinum? (I see you grouped it to 3 amex and 3 chase. What's the reason?)

I'd love to apply tonight. Would you be able to respond @Dan?

You are able to, but not while it's open.
Choose another card for your AMEX 3BM, perhaps Delta+PRG+Plat for a total of 50K AMEX+30K Delta for $4,400 in spending in 3 months.

Ok that's why I was asking. How long should I wait from when I close my SPG to open it up again? and thanks again!

Prob 30 days or so.  Churning SPG is more of a "YMMV" though than churning Chase cards or AMEX charge cards.  What about a 3bm for SPG Business+Delta Business+Plat Business?

I had multiple Amex SPG biz cards in my day, might be easier than SPG consumer and/or have changed since.
