Say you live in lakewood and you need to bring a package to monsey and back. 1 3/4 hours driving time. (plus a few minutes to get to your location...) So you will need the car for 4-5 hours @ $10 ph, for a total of $40-$50. at close to 90 miles each way- its 180 miles......

YES, It is Free Gas. You can drive *180* Miles and you wont pay a penny for the gas. Now lets figure, 180 miles @ 20 miles a gallon, gets you 19 gallons. Now do the math; 19 * lets say $3.50 = $66.50! YES, That is free. And lets say you are renting for 5 hours @ $10 an hour. YOU are gaining on the deal. So thats why I call it free gas. They are actually paying you!
for the same price of $40-$50 u can take the car for a full 24 hours with regular hertz usually

Whats the point if you don't need for longer? And besides you don't get free gas. And also you can't start the day at the time which is in your convinence.

Which is why Hertz on Demand can be benifical.
My brother learns in yeshiva in Washington Heights, and needed tpo go to Queens for an hour. Hertz on Demand pulled through at a rate cheaper then any other rental. (Unless of course tuma028 - or superflyer shtick please dont ask what that is search the forums)

the best part about hertz on demand is the cars they tend to have are beautiful and all have a gps inside and one earns hertz gold club points on each rental unlike zip car

I just inquired about this yesterday with the main reservations line. I was told it cost $12.75 per hour with a max of $86 for a 24 hour period.

Car must be be returned with at least a quarter tank of gas.

Are these statements correct?  Does it vary by location?
