I have not received a confirmation email or anything from them. I used Dan's link and got instant approval. Should I be concerned? I regret not printing the approval page which stated I'll get the card by mail within 2 weeks.

Call chase, they could pull up your info from ur SS #

There is no email conf for credit cards.

I get email conf for Amex cards when I'm approved, but those are charge cards.

Thanks for the responses. I'll call them as soon as get off work. Dan, for every other credit card I've applied for I get some sort of conf, even if it's just a welcome message to SPG, BA, AA etc.

Thats Amex. I also did, but not from Chase

With amex you get confirmation of approval (or not) right away, with chase you don't get any confirmation, but if approved you get a welcome email a week or so later

Not always. In my last 3bm I got two out of three.

The point is that you get somthing from them, unlike chase you dont get anything after applying

So I did receive an email welcoming me to Chase Sapphire, and I received the card today. While calling to activate it, I asked the rep to merged my credit line from my Chase BA card, and then close it. He started the process and then asked me if I was sure I wanted to close the card since I would forfeit my BA mileage. I told him I did not think that was accurate and asked him to double check. He came back and said it was.

Has anyone else heard of this? Can Chase really forfeit my Avios miles?

AFAIK, according to the T&C, they have a right to up until a certain point, but I have not heard of anyone who has suffered clawback for a Chase signup bonus.

Hmmm, I'm just trying to avoid the upcoming yearly fee, but it's definitely not worth forfeiting 150k points to avoid it.

He probably meant that you would forfeit any pending points that haven't posted to your avios account.
Once the points are already transferred they very rarely take them back

+1. did any one ever have theur points taken back after it posted? (not when it went into negative)

I specifically asked, and he told me it was for all accumulated points since I got the card.

Just an update, I sent a secured message regarding the issue and I received this piece of good news:

I assure you that the Avios already posted to your
Executive Club account with British Airways are yours to
keep and use regardless of the status of your credit card
account. Those Avios are not lost or forfeited upon
closure of this credit card account. I apologize for the
incorrect information you had previously received
regarding this issue and I assure you that the information
I provided you is accurate.

chase also once told me that i'll lose my united bonus points if i close the card they told me its up to united but i never did.
