Went to Beckett and couldn't find anything good for 20 ,miles. Also, whose to say they are reputable and not ripping me off.

call 2-3 stores and if it seems it's worth something, then really start looking around

Why don't you just get a monthly Beckett and check the price there?

Bechett is not going to help much. Depending on the grade it could be worth 10 to over 1k.

It has most; it should give you an idea of how much they're worth.

What it says in the book is not what they are worth in the real world.

The only way to find out is by contacting a card/antique dealer and see what they will pay.

Most cards are worth nothing .....
I know someone that does antiques and is 100% honest. If interested PM me for his number

This would be the best way to go. The grade of the card means everything!

I'm not saying Beckett is conclusive proof of their value; I said "it should give [him] an idea of how much they're worth."

If he has a limited edition Michael Jordan rookie card, walks into a dealer who offers him $75, and sells it, he is going to be mighty disappointed if Beckett valued it at $7500, even if he could "only" get $2500 real world.

Ya. That's why I offered to contact me for a honest dealer I know. Hell tell him how much it's worth and how much he'll buy it for.
