Here is a great way to meet a threshold
For example if you plan on opening a credit card like a platinum however you don't want to pay the 450 so if you cancel within 2 months you get all your money back and the 50k bonus points
So you go to Costco spend 3k if that's the threshold in the first month then pay the bill in the
2nd month use ur points
Then cancel
And then return ur big tv screen which costed you 3 thousand dollars (remember electronics have a 90 day return policy)
Or you can buy one of there lifetime return policy's items like Kirkland
I did it and it worked because when they credit you you tell them the card is expired and either they will give you the money back on a Costco cash card or you give them a different Amex card and they put the refund back on there
Enjoy and let us know what you think and if you did it
Good Luck

I'd be cautious doing this with a Chase cad.

So what? Amex has FR.

One can survive an FR, and the odds of not being shut down seem to improve if your stated income and actual income match up.  A/A appears to be irreversible...or at least very difficult to challenge.

ppl keep on saying this, you are looking at it from the wrong angle. to match apples to apples, are more ppl getting aa than ppl getting fried and not passing evan when their income matches. my point is aa is a way of getting rid or certain card holders amex also does this by frying you, (not all who get fried get shut down , but all the ones they want to shut down they fry) so yes a fry is not as bad as aa thats bc they also fry ppl who  they dont intend on shuting down and just want to verify

Latkes: Fry or Fried
Amex: F/R or F/R'ed

Anything else sounds foolish.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

meshugener asked Avid Reader what the difference was between trying something [shady] with Amex and something [shady] with Chase.  I gave my opinion, and that's it.  Any other angle you choose to take on it (or any way you choose to twist my comment) is up to you.

My understanding in Avid Reader's post is that you have more chances to get the bitter candy (A/A or FR whoever it is) with chase than with amex when using that particular loophole, not going in into the consequences once you raised the black flag.

TC610 summed it up well.
What I was saying is that once you get AA'd by Chase, it's extremely hard to reverse it. Hence, not worth it to take chances with them.
