If you never had this card but have the Plat can you still get the bonus?

Let me ask the question a different way since we seem to have different answers. For those that have applied for the Gold and Plat cards. Did you receive both bonuses?

All Amex charge cards are one family and considered the same product.

ETA: If you can find an application page with the T&Cs saying "if you had the "Platinum Card" -vs this product- then you should be able to fight for the points.

If you apply for the Gold while having the Platinum you are disqualified from getting the bonus.
If you apply for both with the MBM I'll know in a couple of days (I did a 2BM and I just met the spending threshold on both of them)

Dont recall. If it was recon it was just verification and then instant approval.
