just a word of warning, people (for instance Dan, AsherO) have claimed that getting this gold card and/or spending 10k in a short period on a business card can trigger F/R

For businesses bills can easily exceed 10K for 1 payment, is that a problem?

depends on you financial situation and how much income, revenue etc that you report. Also would not make a difference if you are legit and would be able to pass an Amex FR.

Amex Business Gold Rewards Card 75k!
« Reply #44 on: June 20, 2012, 04:14:20 PM »
I'm not sure if this is something new, but here is an offer for 75k MR for spending 10k in 4 months.

https://www262.americanexpress.com/business-card-application/business-gold-charge-card/apply/43873-286-0
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Does the fee count toward the spending requirement?

Then that's your answer.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yes. You need to build trust with Amex before putting those charges on this card.

Could you spend $2.5k a month in legit $100-300 charges?

Could you pay off your bill every time you hit $900-1000 in spending?

If you can answer yes to both of these questions I think you should go for it.

where are you coming up with these qualifications??  i'd bet 99% of the people who churn, here and on ft, aren't meeting them.     it's nice to be careful, but that's a bit over the top.

I think 95% of people can pass an FR. If you can't then it's quite a risk, which requires extreme measures

I don't agree, as I got F/R before I even spent money on the card.

Also if you aren't able to show Business income (tax return) it is very likely to get shut down.
I would differentiate a Biz F/R and a Personal F/R

From what you are saying the F/R will come after doing certain spending, in my case they F/R before I even got the card.

I highly doubt 95% of DDF can pass an F/R. Especially one done on a "business."

Why not?
Sole prop is a business. I know many people who got FR'd. If they hadn't filed taxes, they just asked for bank statements, and at worst put a limit on them.

This could work.

But when you apply make sure you give the same info you will give by a F/R... Otherwise likely they will shut you down.

Because they do not have a real business and SP is just a smoke screen. Just a guess on my part.

I opened a Biz Gold as Sole Prop, my personal tax return was enough (I did have Sched C on it)
