It's definitely a YMMV situation, but FR risk inherently means that it may vary. And that's why you're correct to caution @teeboi123

FWIW when I did the BGR with 10K spend, I did some AP and some VR to make the 10K, and other large (>2500) purchases, and BH haven't had an issue.

Luck of the draw, many have used AP and VR on BGR and had no issues. It's up to you if you want to risk it.

I just got a call from AMEX open about my new (a month or more) business gold card. He asked what my business is and what types of things I'm charging on the card and if I'm taking advantage of all the open AMEX benefits available. I acted friendly, and interested. But I was scared! I couldn't remember what I had used the card for! I told him I'm dabbling in ebay. "how long?" I said years, but only recently started thinking of it as a business. (I have no idea what I put on the application!) He told me about the bonus spending categories and their 100K/yr maximum and we laughed and he wished me the income to cover that much in bonus category spending.He seemed happy to note: I see you signed up under a very nice bonus (75K for 10K spending in 4 months), All very pleasant and helpful. Nice of AMEX, but my 'business' probably won't need much of their small business help.

Same, I got this call when I upgraded from BGR to Bus Plat and they just wanted to make sure I was taking advantage of the benefits on the card.

I had this call on two gold business card that I opened. It was before I even spent anything on the card. Seemed more like an introductory call than a financial review.

Yesterday applied for both for this and MB , submitted BGR 1st. Both were pending, today MB approved and BGR still pending.
I wonder why the MB got approved 1st? I much rather the BGR

No one can give you exact numbers. Just take all the regular FR precautions and kick them up a notch.
