That's the easiest and fastest way to build credit for a newbie. I, personally, after not being approved for any card I applied for, and only resulted in 7 hard pulls in 1 month (!) on EX, I added myself to my moms SP $12K CL as a joint, waited 1 billing cycle to go by and then I was approved for ALL the cards I applied since then!
whats the chances that someone with no history will get approved to be a "joint" card holder?
I just called them and the guy didn't make it sound easy to get approved.

What do you mean 'not easy'? He isn't willing to send you the form? AFAIB they approve anyone as a joint.

The pull is only for identifying info. such as name and address. Its not even a hard pull. They don't look on his credit worthiness.

Sure. And you understand there's a difference between AU on Citi and joint on Chase.

There's no limit to AUs.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Does adding a au on my SPG card help me earn more points? (from money being spent on the additional card). Meaning, does the au earn points as well?

Yes.

Also,  in general, all the benefits apply to the AU.

I got added yesterday as an AU on a friends citi AA card. He called in at 6 pm and they overnighted  it, waived the $15 fee and I got it today at 11am!

Someone told me that sometimes they don't let free bags (from his experience )with it as an AU. Is that true?

On the AU's credit report, it will show the full account history, but as always with AU, the credit report states that its an AU and not individual responsibility.
