@netzih thats probably a Chase thing. I dont believe it varies by card.

whats the chances that someone with no history will get approved to be a "joint" card holder?
I just called them and the guy didn't make it sound easy to get approved.

What do you mean 'not easy'? He isn't willing to send you the form? AFAIB they approve anyone as a joint.

He is, just i wanna do this for a friend and he is (the rep) telling me its gonna be a hard pull.andi think why would they approve him if he has no history of credit at all. ( just being declined a bunch of times)

The pull is only for identifying info. such as name and address. Its not even a hard pull. They don't look on his credit worthiness.

sure? cuz i tried putting him as an au on citi for like 4 months and it helped, but not enough to get accepted for a card (citi card that is).

Sure. And you understand there's a difference between AU on Citi and joint on Chase.

I had that conversation with you a month ago (search) and as of now I checked already my CR and there's no hard pull from chase.

There's no limit to AUs.

Yes.

Also, in general, all the benefits apply to the AU.

I got added yesterday as an AU on a friends citi AA card. He called in at 6 pm and they overnighted it, waived the $15 fee and I got it today at 11am!

Someone told me that sometimes they don't let free bags (from his experience )with it as an AU. Is that true?

I called amex asking to make my AU a member since 09 like me even though they just got added and they said they cant. I remember s/o saying that they could, anyone have experience?

On the AU's credit report, it will show the full account history, but as always with AU, the credit report states that its an AU and not individual responsibility.
