Sorry if this was asked before,

Someone once linked to a driver that converts windows 8 to windows 7 or XP. Anyone know where I can find such a thing?
Can you please better explain your question.
A "driver" is software that allows a piece of hardware to communicate with your OS.
What are you trying to do?

Go to device manager, uninstall the wireless card, reboot and let it reinstall.

Benefits are increased stability, better optimised for 8 core processors, better optimised for low power processors, some UI improvements, faster start-up time.

Why on earth would you want to do that if its a convertible.
Just think of the start screen as a big start menu.

Yup.

BTW i'm finding many systems are crawling with Windows 8 and when I change it to Windows 7 they're great.
I find that it's gotten much better with 8.1.

I've actually had reports of the opposite, and many wireless issues...
