They have a handful of frames on $6.95 special right now.  Just ordered a pair for my son.  Total, including shipping and A/R coating on lenses was around $18.50

My brother has ordered several pairs from Zenni and they have all been quite good -- all fo the ones he ordered came with clip-on sunglasses (magnetic).

myopticalshop is cheaper for comparable glasses, but Zenni has hundreds more pairs to choose from.   They also provide a much nicer eyeglass case (Zenni).

1) you have a high prescription
2) you have a complicated prescription (stigmatizam, bi-focal ect)
3) you want a quality pair to use everyday

they tend to be cheap and junky, I have 6 pairs from Zenni, they are sort of disposable.

My brother's several pairs looked pretty good to me.

The ones I've ordered from myoptical shop have been great -- they are all rimless frames.  Good quality frames and lenses.  I paid for the Hi Index lenses, and including shipping, it was under $80 to the US.  I have a -6.5 in one eye, and an astigmatism in the other -- two pairs of rimless glasses, two pairs of rimless sunglasses -- all were great.

I have astigmatic lenses.  i use them daily.  i've gotten multiple rimless pairs (most flimsy type of glasses).  they are great!

Transition lenses included in the "shipped for $42"?  That's a great price...transition are the lenses that change color with light (from clear to dark)

All of my sunglasses have been with tinted lenses -- that add $8 to the glasses.  The drop down menu for tinting color is below the A/R drop down -- can choose from a bunch of colors of tinting, and whether you want light, medium, or dark tint.  Any frame can be ordered with tinted lenses -- and then they are sunglasses.  For the $6.95 frames, the total will be around $22 including shipping for regular, prescription tinted sunglasses.

Just checked 39dollarglasses.com -- selected photochromic lenses (where the lenses change from dark to light) -- the add-on charge for the lenses alone is $39.95 -- that's before shipping and before the cost of the frames.  Not sure where you got $42 for the whole shebang -- you're not comparing apples to apples.
