Incident: was told that i'll get a whirlpool but hotel mostly only has walkin showers (i think it was not in the file)

I stayed in the Hyatt Regency Churchill in London for a week a couple of weeks back.

The elevator opened and it was not level with the floor and I took a terribly nasty spill.

I wasn't terribly hurt, just a little banged up but was mostly shaken up. I reported the incident to the desk because I didn't want anyone to get hurt, not realizing this was such a big deal for them. They followed up with me with all sorts of managers and stuff and the head of security.  They mainly asked me some questions and told me they fixed it and apologized profusely. They also kept asking me (repeatedly) if there is anything they can do to make my stay more comfortable. I considered asking for a suite but we were with a baby and had so much stuff, the hassle of moving wouldn't have been worth it for the remaining 2 days in the suite. I just said, no thanks, I'm just glad you fixed it. They sent us a nice fruit basket and wine to our room for free with a really nice note.

Do you think if I email someone that they will be able to do something for me, either upgrade status or points? This was two weeks ago. I'm platinum right now.

I would think so. They are worried about lawsuits. I would ask for a free suite stay at least.

I emailed the general customer service email and the passport customer service email. I am platinum, almost close to diamond so I asked them for Diamond and some comp nights via free points. Let's see what they say.

Hotel: JW cancun
Incident: 1- called to confirm I will be arriving at 11:30am and wanted to check-in then (4:00 official check-in time) they made us wait till 4:00pm
2- wife was alone in room at night & staff came in for turn-down service even though she franitcally yelled not to come in (we never ordered turn-down & she was petrified i mexico when someone starts coming in to room claiming to bring chocolates which we never ordered)
Status: Platnuim
Emailed manager & left vm with no responce. Contacted marriott customer care which after the hotel twice refused any form of comp escalated go mr marriotts which promptly gave me 60k marriott points enough for 2 nights at comparable JW

It was a nightly turn-down service that we were unaware of & guess because of language barrier the guy wasn't getting it- either way he freaked out my wife

I had a DSU Confirmed in the Hyatt Andaz 5th Ave for NY Eve. I booked through Gold Passport. Apparently the rep confirmed without making sure there was availability in the property. Basically I call in the morning before my arrival, and they say that they are booked up. No DS for me.

Manager was all apologetic and arrange a nice regular room, and gave me 6K points (amount for suite upgrade) for future stay.

I feel that's not enough!

Who shall I turn to?
What shall I ask for?

Andaz west Hollywood did that for me without DSU. I confirmed suite before I came and they ended giving it away got full refund.

2 fire alarms very early morning hours over the weekend & I got for my grandparents 50,000 HGP points in the Hyatt Palm Springs. They originally only wanted to give 10,000. Bargained with them. Happened exactly a year ago

Stayed at a Hyatt with the family and at 4:00 am they gave my room to someone else who opened the door (it got caught by the latch).  Kids were screaming, wife freaked out.  Manager apologizes profusely and says what can i do to make it right.  Beyond refunding the points for the night, what's a reasonable request?  20K?
The manager threw a refund at me right away.  I think I'll take your advice and try to get my status upgraded from plat to diamond as well...

Incident: Elevator not working when I got out of the pool with my 1 year old and only way to access the stairs was from outside. It was raining and freezing and we didn't have our coats.
