Incident: Really bad internet in room.
Compensation: Called SPG after checkout and received 2,000 SPG points.

what can i expect to get as a hyatt platinum member in a standard hyatt with pool closed for repairs and high noise level in bathroom coming in from ducts?

Year of incident: 2016
Status at time of incident: Preferred Guest
Incident: 3 reps sent me around in circles for 2 weeks regarding how to deal with a complicated category change request.
Compensation: 12,000 points + suite upgrade for duration of my stay :)

Year of incident: 2014
Status: SPG gold
Incident: hotel checked us out at 11 am even though we asked for late check-out. I was at the pool at the time, so I had to have security escort me to me room to show him my ID, as my key card stopped working. Also, someone(maid?) walked into the room while my wife was inside.
Comp: called the hotel and spoke with a manager who proactively offered to refund all my points, give me a free night certificate, or a chance to come back to the hotel "as a VIP".
