Not sure if this is the right thread.
Booked a SPG night with points. When I got to the hotel I was told that I had an additional res for $ as well and it was to late to cancel so I will be charged. I don't remember making that res.  So I called the corp # and they said there was a phone res on my account that I never canceled but they will ask the hotel to cancel the fee.
Bottom line the hotel doesn't want to cancel fee so I disputed the charge with AMEX saying that they have to prove I made that res, what are the chances they can pull up the phone call, if in fact there was one?

Open to other options as well if anyone has any good ideas.
Is there any record of that second booking in your email? Or in your SPG account history?

There's gotta be a digital paper trail..

Can you find out when the reservation was made? Also which email address is associated with the booking?

There's gotta be something there to trace. Anytime I've made a booking on the phone they sent me an email confirmation right away.

Additionally, ask SPG corporate to pull up the phone call (they certainly have records) and perhaps share that with you. "Hello, if it was my mistake I'd certainly pay the fee, but I have zero recollection of it. Hearing my voice on the phone could help jog my memory"..

Sheraton Philadelphia center city: went to check in and couldn't bec they had a blackout. Ended up being moved to Sheraton Philadelphia downtown which does not have an outdoor pool and asked manager for compensation. He said the compensation was that we cancelled your reservation for free. I said I did not want to cancel but could not wait 7 hours to check in. No dice. I then complained via Twitter and within an hour the same manager emailed me offering me 5k spg. Oh the power of Twitter!

I had to use Twitter recently re: my husband being told he was matched to Diamond but never getting it. I tried for a a couple months via emails and phone calls. Now to figure Twitter out. I "think" I had to follow them but I never saw the post.

How do I get compensation of 40,000 points from crowne plaza in jerusalem? We got into the place and it was disgusting and dirty. Can't shower because it was clogged! They don't have "any" better rooms.

Do I argue with IHG or Crown Plaza?

What do I do, or where do I send an email regarding compensation for my recent Hyatt stay? I came into a room and after finally unpacking and settling in I realized the AC was not working. After some checking by the receptionist they offered me a new room which was a whole relocation process mit di gantze mishpacha.

 I made a reservation at the PH NYC for my brother on his wedding night, and I had a friend check in so that my brother would have the key available and not need to wait in line to check in after the wedding.  When my brother got to the room, the key was not working, and a few other times during the stay the key  became deactivated and it required a replacement.

 Normally, a faulty key  wouldn't be an issue for me, but the fact that it happened multiple times, at such a prestigious property, on such a special night, is especially bad.  What would be fair compensation?

Hyatt Regency Baltimore. Heard loud music from wedding in hotel (even thoguh I asked for top floor for quiet). Moved rooms, got 2 breakfast certs, and 15k Hyatt points (they said they couldn't refund me since I was on Priceline reservation). Way more than I expected. They were extremely good about it.

Marriott Renaissance OKC: old mattress, sagged in middle. Was there 3 days, unable to change rooms due to being full. Took off breakfast buffet x 2 days, movie, room incidentals at checkout when I mentioned it (again).
