Hotel: Hilton
Year of incident: Feb 2014
Status at time of incident: Gold
Incident: latch on door broken no chair in room -- gave 2 room upgrade -- in this  new room maid did not close door after cleaning room and no automatic closure on door   , air con worked in one room only
Compensation gave $200 credit for dinner and 80k ( one nite ) -- received a survey in e/m -- told the story --they said would hear back in 72 hours (I was not looking for anything more  as I thought hotel handled well )  called 7 days later to ask why no reply --gave me one free night any Hilton because they did not get back to me in stated time

Just checked in to a hilton (gold) w a standard room reservation and found they gave me a 2br suite. With a welcome letter addressed to someone else. Should I wait it out (and possibly get compensation or a better room if we have an issue) and assume that person was a no show?  ???

Im confused. Both your options involve staying in the room until someone theoretically shows up?

they accidentally gave you a suite and you are talking about figuring out a way to get compensation for this?

This thread is catching up to the airline compensation thread. Fight fight fight.

Stayed in the PH Washington (Diamond member) and the tv didn't work. Called engineering and it took 2 hours to fix. I mentioned it when I checked out and got free parking. It seems from this thread that I deserve at least a week in The PHP.

i payed 90$ on pricline for the el conquestidor in puerto rico ( waldorf resort) had complaints of bad service checking in, rude bell boy (crumpled 1$ tip and left on floor) & the fridge wasnt a real fridge just a "cooler" so had to use sink as meat storage with ice. complained with hilton and got 1 free waldorf cert

$1 seems a bit cheap to me. Was he rude only after you gave him $1?
Either way he should be classy enough to say thank you to whatever anyone gives him.
