$1 seems a bit cheap to me. Was he rude only after you gave him $1?
Either way he should be classy enough to say thank you to whatever anyone gives him.

True.

For someone who shleps my bags from my car to the room?
I think $1/bag would be the minimum.

I'll explain: we informed hotel we will get in by 11 & they assured us they will have everything ready . We pulled up the bell Boys were literally sleeping outside on the bench. We asked them were to go & they just pointed inside went back to sleep. After getting room key we woke them again  & asked were do we park- they send us to other side of the resort were we need to take a shuttle ( that guy was also-sleeping!) which means we had to shlep all our stuff from car to shuttle & from shuttle right back to the sleeping bell boys who should of unloaded our stuff in first place!!! Then we get this rude half sleep bell boy & I realize I only have 1$ & big bills & I tell my friend there's no way in hell I'm giving this guy a 20( didn't think he deserved anything !) so I gave him 1$ & he left it crumpled outside our door ..
Bottom line the service sucked but the resort is unreal!! Has it's own island & every amenity u can imagine including a water park

Cool story - same trip we stayed in gran malia golf resort (90$ priceline ) it I has prob 1 of the biggest pools of any resort & rooms & grounds r also stunning . Anyways when I went to check in for 2 night stay they asked if we want upgrade for extra 300$ a night for suite. I asked if I can get an upgrade with my Amex plat & they said it's only if I used it in original booking. Called ink to complain that since I used their card I won't get an upgrade & that I was told originally when I got the card right b4 the trip that ink gets room upgrades ( misinformed rep told me that ) . & I got 60k chase points as a comp for cost of the upgrade ( which I never took)

Not the hot food (obviously). I've stayed there many many times, and they almost always have kosher (cold) options - oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc.
Lot of places have waffle makers with Ou waffle mix - ask your LOR but mine said its kosher ..

I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!!
. We finally get to the GH kauai last night at about 9:45 pm Hawaiian time , after traveling 3 planes and over 14 hours.
We showered, ate a little, and As we were wiped out and ready to get to bed we see a swarm of ants in the bed.
They moved us to a small room and said will move us today.
I'm sick. Stomach ache. Vomiting. Exhaustion.  I don't know.
This is so unacceptable.
What should I do?
What compensation should we request?
Sincerely,
Helene

I stayed at a Hyatt House and we were told breakfast closed at 10.  When we went downstairs to get cereal and such at 9:45am they were taking everything away and the hotel employee told us we were too late.  I've spoken to the general manager by e-mail and he thanked me for writing in and ended with 'let me know what I can do for you in terms of compensation.'  How much do you think I could legitimately ask for?
