Do your jury duty.

Manhattan Criminal Court:
The boring introductory speech takes about 45 minutes, and should begin relatively on time. Therefore, coming 45 minutes late is no big deal.

If you have a deferment, don't waster your time at the criminal court. Go straight to 60 Centre Street room 139. The line can get busy, so try to come at a good time.

definitely.
it's easy to get out of it once you are there already, if you choose to do so.

Why do people think that jury duty is fun amd games?
I have been on a few jury's I can tell you it is fun but no games.

Technically, you can claim ignorance until you get a letter via registered mail. CMIIW.

Realistically, the best option is to show up late.

If you come before (IIRC) 10:00 they will still accept you for the day, but most jury selections happen far before then.

When I went, they only had 3 selection the entire time from 10 to the end.

And those selections are usually to choose "Alternates" to the actual jury, so they only need 2 or 3 of the people they pull in, so it shouldn't be too hard to not get chosen.

I know of someone who had a officer come to them one day and take them to jury duty.

But I know many more who are ignoring it for years.

Which State/County?

I think in Kings County NY they have no shortage.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

They refuse to let me not serve today because of YT, unless I reschedule. Rescheduling isnt an option for me because that'll just have me push it off again because I'm never home. So I'll be going in circles for years. I told her that and she told me to sit down (and I guess I have to hope I dont get I chosen or I'll need to repeat the process because I'll miss monday/Tuesday)

I would guess that your best bet is to get disqualified. BTW I think this is another huge advantage of living in Brooklyn, not hard to get out of jury duty or to just ignore.

I'm simply gonna tell the lawyers I have a holiday. Not much gain in them choosing me if at the end of the day they'll end up with Thier secind pick.

Once you get into the courtroom you'll have the opportunity to request from the judge to excuse you. If the scheduled trial is over yom tov he'll almost certainly let you go.

Did the singing I suggested work, or was it something else ;D

Interesting how your jury duty cycle coincides with the election.
