Do your jury duty.

Manhattan Criminal Court:
The boring introductory speech takes about 45 minutes, and should begin relatively on time. Therefore, coming 45 minutes late is no big deal.

If you have a deferment, don't waster your time at the criminal court. Go straight to 60 Centre Street room 139. The line can get busy, so try to come at a good time.

It should. Make sure you have documentation from before you were summoned.

...And that the travel is non-refundable. At least IME.

Jury Duty: Nothing to do there but chill and write a TR. Kinda like the beach but missing the view and ocean breeze.

NYC seems to be reopening courts later in August and calling in Jury /GJ duty.
Can people in a 'risk group' with doctor's orders to isolate get a waiver /deferment?
Is there a mechanism for that?

What happens in NYS, when one doesn't respond to the questionnaire for JD?

Are you certain? I am referring specifically to the questionnaire, not a summons.

Did it come via certified mail? If not, nothing could happen as nobody knows if it was ever delivered.

I have jury duty in Ocean county next Monday.

Bh the jury selection is through zoom. But wondering if anyone knows more details of the time commitment- all they would tell me is that it starts at 8am. Anyone have a recent data point about how long this process can go on for each day?

I would like to schedule meetings for work next week.

Last two times I had (in the last 18 months or so) they cancelled a few days before. I wouldn't worry too much

When I went the judge first asked everyone if they were willing to serve and said they would only use from the unwilling of there weren't enough willing. She said that she had never yet had to take from the unwilling.

It’s already EOD Friday, I don’t think they’re canceling Monday.

Oh nice. Thanks
