United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

As of today I still get the 50k offer plus the $50 statement credit when I sign in to my United account, anyone else?

Only reason I haven't applied yet, is because I had all my Chase CC's closed by them back when they were closing accounts right and left...

Did anyone here had their chase accounts shut at that time but approved for a new card recently ???

I would really appreciate any feedback on this, Thx

My new UMPE card posted the 5k bonus on Friday plus the miles for the actual spending but none of the 50k bonus.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Do they post at different times?

Data point: it's my second UMPE but it's a new FF#. I got the 5k so I would assume the 50k should come too.

Screenshot attached.

Yes. The AU always seems to come way earlier

Ah, so nothing to worry about?  :D

PS when should I SM to get my $50 statement credit? I used Dan's link but I have a screen shot of a 55k miles + $50 screenshot. (Don't all PM me at once.)  ;)

Ok, but is it time to ask for it? Also, should I ask about my 50k or just wait?

Wouldn't hurt to ask once you've met your min.

Don't ask.
Takes up to 2 billing statements after meeting min spend.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

+1. It was reported upthread that asking in this situation can only hurt, just be patience.

I didn't have success getting the statement credit matched from dan's link. I had multiple escalation requests and screenshots denied by the 'marketing department' due to that promotion being 'targeted' to those applying while making a united.com reservation (despite the fact that the offer didn't require you to make a reservation). Anyone have better luck?

Fine, I will sit tight and wait for the 50k. What about the $50? Leave it alone or send an SM with a screenshot?

@ilherman, did someone actually lose out on the 50k for asking for it?!

Just shot up until you get the 50k  :P

IIRC upthread  someone reported asking for it, and when they LOOKED in to his account they made sure he will not get the bonus. Just let it process automatically.

I churned this card a few weeks ago but I haven't received the united welcome package is this a reason for concern?

as was stated numerous times upthread and posted on DDMS... hover over your "mileage expiration" and see if it says "thank you for being a card member ect"
