United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

No go on the $50 credit. SM explained the bonus of the card and then said:

I posted this earlier. I had loads of escalations with no success.

+1, I tried everything

Anyone know if the match for UA Biz still works from 30k to 50k?

I sent an sm requesting a match to a better offer, and this is the response I got, have they caught up with amex terms?:
Quote
Dear xxxxxx xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting Chase regarding your enrollment
bonus included with your United MileagePlus® credit card
account.

We reviewed your account and see you recently opened a new
United MileagePlus credit card account, which offers
40,000 bonus miles after you spend $2,000 in the first
three months your account is open. Your offer also
includes 5,000 bonus miles for adding an authorized user
to your account within three months of the account open
date and making a first purchase. Unfortunately, you will
not be able to receive these bonus miles since you
received a similar offer in the past.

Here is additional information to help explain the
enrollment bonus:

?These bonus offers are available to you as long as you
have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this product
in the past 24 months.
?Since you received 35,000 bonus miles on January 2013 on
your previous account ending in xxxx, you are not
considered a new Cardmember.
?Based on this information, this new account is not able
to receive the enrollment bonus miles.

Please understand that the MileagePlus Explorer enrollment
offer that includes a $50.00 statement credit is an
available offer through United.com within the purchase
path. Chase and United have various offers within the
marketplace. In order to receive the applicable offer,
one must apply through that particular channel. Since
your account was not applied for through this channel, we
are unable to honor your request for the $50.00 statement
credit.

Should you need further information on earned or redeemed
miles, please contact United at 1-800-421-4655 or access
your MileagePlus frequent flyer account at united.com.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx

Here you go it was always known you can't do all this.
Important rules for churning are 1) change ur ffn 2) wait @ least 30 days from closing 3) no SM for matching until the original points post, or wait 24 months.

-changing the FFN works for the UA card for example. but what about churning an ultimate rewards card (saph, ink)... must wait 24 months?
-i had no idea chase had a 24 month rule. i receive a sapphire bonus twice in the past year.
can believe im not going to receive the 55k UA bonus. awful

No 24 month rule for UR, 24 month rule is for United credit card bonus without changing FFN
