United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

anyone since then?

Yes me. I posted it before in this thread, maybe twice. Signed up with link on united when making a dummy booking, offers 35k + $50, then I SM'ed chase to match me to an additional 20k miles, and after a bit back and forth they agreed.

Looking for some help here please. I cancelled my wife's UA MP Explorer Card a few months back. She has about 30K miles in her account and I am looking to get a mileage ticket that only seems to be available when logged into an account that has the UA MP Explorer Card (I have the card so I can see the additional availability). With that introduction, I have two questions:

1) If I create a new FFN # for her and apply with the new #, will I get the sign-up bonus again?

2) If I merge the accounts and use the old FFN #, will United recognize that my wife is a cardholder so that she can get additional access to award seats? If so, how soon after can I merge the FFN #'s to get the additional access for award seats?

I used the dd link without $50. They would not match in my case correct?

Right they probably won't. Cuz you are essentially asking to be matched to the best of two different offers.

(I think) What he's saying (am not taking responsibility that he's right I'm just rephrasing his words) that you should reapply for your wife with a new ffn and changed info (email address etc) which will give you the signup bonus and then (dunno how long you should wait) merge the 2 accounts that you'll be able to book the ticket united will recognize that your wife is is MPE card holder & therefore offer "expanded award availability".

"We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days."

From the chase recon wiki:

Trick to know what the status of your application is:
Call 1800-432-3117
Press # (or 1, depending on the message)
Press 3
Press 1
Type in your Social
If it says you'll be notified in approx 2 weeks, it's pending
If it says in 7 to 10 days, you've been declined.

No matter what the status of your app is or what the page said after you hit submit or what Chase emailed you, etc... CALL TODAY! Any "pending" issues can either be addressed once you get your letter in the mail in 2 weeks, or you can JUST CALL TODAY!

I am premier 1K. So As I login to my Premier 1K account, it shows me 50K +$50 credit offer. However I cant apply thru my Premier 1K Mileage plus number, as I have taken this offer with that number before. Can I do following.
1. Login to premier 1K and go thru landing page of 50K offer and $50 credit.
2. Hit apply for card button.
3. Once application page opens up, then change FFN# (of newly opened mileage plus number) and/or change the name (If I want to apply for wife or anyone else.

This will allow to NOT GO THRU secured message process and go thru justifying that I was receipient of offer or not.

Question is - Will they award 50K and $50 credit for different name, different number. or they may not honor it? Any experience for people applying targeted offer for United and changing names and FFN#?

Did you try actually changing the FFN on the application page? IME it wasn't editable.

Sorry. Didn't realize it. Appeared Editable. but Now tried and it doesn't allow to edit Name or FFN#. so I guess that is not an option.
