United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

According to @Redbull3 yes.
Did you try this and see if it causes a 50k offer?
I don't believe redbull meant that's how the offer pops up. He meant you need the new FF# to put into the spot where the old ff# is.
I think the key is this "paid" flight thingy.  :-\

A new account won't get the 50k offer even with a dummy booking. If you have an old account that was already used to get the bonus then you can't use it now. However there is a good chance that this account will have the 50k offer available. Doing a dummy booking gives you the added $50 offer.

You'll probably see a 50k offer after a dummy search and it's tempting to click but don't, it'll be 30. I think you need to select a flight and then you'll see the offer again. I've also found that clicking on it ruins it, if I leave the app and come back the same way it's 30 the second time! At that point clear your history or go private and start over.

Can anyone confirm all this? I can't be the first to stumble on these sensitivities of that ad.

I've seen people say it takes some time after getting approved for it to show up on the chase website how long would that be?

Is there anyway to expedite United seeing that you are a cardmember. I really need some seats quickly that are only available to cardholders.

I never see the 50k on old accounts. I don't believe the 50k has to do with old accounts. Is your old account a premier account?

No
Do you have a lot of miles in your account? I can't find the 50k offer in any old accounts of any of my family members.

It's not a code, it's a specific link sent in the offer. And the link prompts me to put in my FFN, so I presume (though perhaps I am wrong) nothing about the offer is shareable.
a week after trying the link and only getting the 30k offer a 50k offer showed up in the mail.
didn't have to open new account
whats are the chances that i get matched for the 50k. i signed up a week before getting the offer do they check your FFN to see if i have the offer
