United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Tell them that you saw this offer in your local branch, therefore you can't share them an offer with your name on it.

Did you read the whole thing?

Basically, the offer I'm "not eligible" for is one that doesn't exist - 50k / $2k spending. They say I am eligible for the 50k / $3 spending, which is what I wanted in the first place.

Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I actually did read the whole thing. Why wouldn't you want the 2k spend offer?

I didn't, though

Afaik there is no 30k/3k offer rather a:

I applied for 30k/1,

And now you can ask them to match to 50k/2k offer.

If I change the FFN, how quickly after canceling the UE card can I apply for another one?

Trickier question . 24 months up to apply for new Biz card with original FF number . Can I create a fourth FF number and also apply for personal card that I closed 7 weeks ago . Risky business or foolish.

Why not just apply for both under new FFN?

Was there ever a 50k/2k offer? I know that Dan reported it in his recent chase roundup, on the main site, but I didn't see that anywhere else. Even in the link that he provided it said 50k/3k.

First of all welcome to Ddf!
He must have made a mistake (typo) because the current offer is 50k/3k but it usually is 30k/1k and the "premium offer" is 50k/2k.

Thanks for the welcome!
What's the "premium offer", and how does one get it? Does it help that I'm a CPC (thanks Dad!)?

The Premium offer is constantly targeted in the mail (usually through united) or you might receive one by opening a Mileage Plus account, and once or twice a year it is offered through chase as a limited time signup bonus.
