United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

An important distinction between the Chase/United free bag policy for CC holders and the AA free bag policy is that with AA you get the benefit even if you didn't charge the ticket to the AA branded card, whereas with UA you must charge to the UA branded card or else you will be forced to pay for extra bag on int'l (learned this the hard way).

Are you saying you get free bag on INT'L not just domestic , by having the AA card? Or buy paying
for Tix On UA card ?

International tickets get first free bag anyway.

That's not the same as one bag for free,
that you would be paying for otherwise.

has nothing to do with UAMPE or
Citi AA card then .

Don't these cards allow you to have a 2nd free bag on Int'l. The United Club card definitely does, but ONLY IF TICKET IS PAID FOR WITH THAT CARD.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

« Reply #5025 on: May 31, 2016, 08:01:15 PM »
55k Public Offer: http://unitedexplorercard.com/actfast

Get 50,000 Bonus Miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. 5,000 bonus miles when you add the first authorized user and make a purchase in the first 3 months your account is open.
It seems that the first year annual fee is NOT waived.
Offer ends on 6.30.
Be careful that, this card is affected by the Chase 5/24 rule now.

So I got the 70K targeted offer, way over 5/24. Last Chase was FU 4/5. I decided to try just for the sake of it. I got the 30 day email. We'll see. Hubs got the 30K offer, better CS, less new cards but not worth trying.

Email is irrelevant. What does the status line say?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Just called, 7-10 days, so declined. No surprise but tired of speculation and wanted to start getting some data points. At least I did get Chase FU being over the limit.

Hmm, wonder if I should apply for the IHG or Fairmont since they're not suppose to be included and I already have a pull. No targeted offers there.

The others do not ! Unless the carrier allows it regardless , CMIIAW but TK allows 2 in coach.
