United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

No offense, but I used the word "different"
It's not too hard to make your existing card different.
guess you're talking about downgrading. which I actually don't take into consideration

I believe both MC. I'll double check later.
that can't be. the new UMPE is VS only

convert the current UPME to MC ? no. as it wouldn't help my situation [don't wanna have to much accts open with those mnstrs]

although I would say, unlike SPP, which comes in VS and MC. the UMPE doesn't have such product in MC [not talking bout the UMPE coming from CO OPP]
so how exactly will the convert to something that doesn't exist

Man, that makes you the 3rd DDFer today conjecturing something as fact without any basis.

Meshugeneritis seems to be contagious :P

I'm not sure why I have to say this, but folks, if you don't know something for a fact please make that clear...

wow sharp. :'( .
when jj mentioned he has two MC's I said it can't be, since he didn't bring up the issue if downgrading etc.
when you brought it up, it 'sort of' made sense to me although I was [and still am] questioning but not conjecturing as a fact.
that said, your point is still true!

and btw dan, how come you never even mentioned, even in a hint that it can be done [if it can]

Meshugeneritis seems to be
contagious :P

Aha!

Now you gonna get what a meshugener is all about!!

Funny you.

1) why do you say I posted something without knowing the facts?? Actually, with this statement you posted something without having the facts!!! Yes! I actually tried to do it, and had tried all ways of convincing and it didn't work.
Yeah, but I know #MeshugenerAlwaysPostWithoutKnowingTheFacts.

2)what's the point of driving people crazy? You say that its possible to have 4, than why in the world don't you take your time and keyboard to post it? If you think its not good to post it publicly, than what's the point of screwing us and act like  "hey, I have a trick, but I'm not gonna tell you about it, only I know", you now sound exactly like another member here...
#MeshugenerAlwaysPostWithoutKnowingTheFacts

3) Mr Creditor has already asked his question a while ago, and, for some unknown reason, you weren't so generous to drop in a post of advise, but all of a sudden, once I tried to help him, you are fully in to offer him advise, and of course, to point out that #MeshugenerAlwaysPostWithoutKnowingTheFacts, isn't that the reason why you were suddenly so nice and helpful???

Have nice day.

Was just at my local chase branch, applied for the united 55k after $2,000 spend and got approved no problem. I do have the old continental card MC and they didn't even ask why I need both.

The club card they offer is no annual fee first year.

The SP is 40k after $2,000 spend.

He had no details about freedom card.

You should be able to match to any of those offers via SM.  Possibly even double dip though it seems they gotten smart to that.

They have a SP 40k after 2k spend offer in the branch?

But anyways you probably lose the chance of 2BM/3BM if you wanted to...or am I wrong?

IIRC a DDF member wanted to know if he applies for a cc at bank can someone at home with computer apply for another card right away...did  that work?
