United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Hey Dan, you may have higher vocabulary (or rather internet searching) skills than the Simple Joe type-of-folks most of us here are, but you well know what you implied when you said 'shot down', and most readers/posters here wouldn't differentiate between shot down and shut down when it comes to these type of things.

But as one prominent member once said: "And that's all I have to say on the matter.  Cheers."
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

Sometimes when you hear something you've never heard before you can't picture how its part of 'simple' english but I guarantee you this isn't a saying only those with high vocabulary have heard.

I have not been following this thread but just saying that I just got my 50k posted today from the bonus. And should get another 5k for AU.
Contrary to what the recon rep told me when he approved me that I won't get the bonus cuz its not a signature card.

Again, thinking that the phrase "shot down" means getting "shut down" is only proving yours and meshugener's lacking vocabulary skills and continuing to insist they're the same is just digging your hole deeper. The meaning of the phrase doesn't change because I'm talking about an SM from Chase.

And that's all I have to say on the matter.  Cheers.

Keep digging why don't you...
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/shot%20down
I'm not here for arguments nor do I question your vocabulary skills
but I really think you guys are mistaking on this one.
the way Merriam explains it, shut down refers to closure i.e. "the water main/sub station has been shut down  due to the storm" etc.
while shot down is either
1) to cause to fall by shooting, to kill someone...
2) to put an end to
3) to discredit SHOOT DOWN A THEORY
you can say that "my fund-raising ideas were shut down" which would mean the idea was killed/destroyed but how about the person saying "I was shot down because of my fund-raising ideas ???" doesn't make any sense unless he literally mean he was killed because of it.
hence, telling a person you'll be shot down for doing that, would probably mean him being killed etc. since you're referring to him not to his idea
it would have been more correct when you would say "your matching request will be shot down" but if your saying "people have been shot down for matching" is incorrect unless you mean Chase uses ammunition to treat they're customers.
that said if you use shot down for Chase AA it wouldn't sound as bad. since its very similar and maybe even the same shoresh as shut down.
but using it on a person being shot down is incorrect vocab, IMHO

if you still think I'm wrong then bring an example of "shot down" referring to a person but doesn't mean killed or shooting down a theory.
I'm just say'in©®

I told them I was in a Chase branch and saw them advertising the offer, guess it's always better to say your colleague got it?

I have the Chase MilePLUS united explorer MasterCard. This is the card I got after the merger since I had the Continental card before that.  Does anyone know if I sign up for the Visa Explorer card, will I be able to get the bonus? When is the best time to sign up for that card (best signup bonus)?

Thanks,

This is still alive. Here are the steps.
1. Open a new mileage plus account.
2. Transfer 1000 miles from UR account.
3. Login to your new mileage plus account.
4. You may not see 65k link. You may still see only 30k link.
5. You press following link now, while you are logged in to your new account.
http://www.unitedexplorercard.com/premier

I did it. It opened new browser with all familiar 65k link. It worked for me. If you do steps not mentioned above, it may not open the same link.

Good luck !!!
Does anyone know if it's still available?
Or is just 30k+50$ available?
