United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

called recon right away they couldn't even find it until they transferred me to a different department.

And am I correct about my assumption that your at the Branch app was approved instantly or at least
while you waited there ?

If so do you think branch manager or employee has any influence on overall process ?
Thanks again

He said the app needed further review so he called and he didn't really have to say much, they just kept putting him on hold till they said it was approved. I do believe that there's a better chance to get approved when the banker speaks to them. Chase is very nice to approve me for 8 cards just this year considering my first account with them was in Feb. this year.

That's good to know . I have a banker friend at my local branch back in NYC and I have been a Chase banking customer over 30 years PRE credit cards .

Will time an appo to include him being there . Would love to get a second SP visa bonus since I converted my Visa to MC but the Visa Account still Shows online and I don't think that trick works any more .

It does.

So just apply using your link while both show in my online account?

Can i get them to remove the Visa or just wait till the Visa drops off .

Can you help with the proper way to go about it, aside from just apply due to existing Visa in System
Thanks Dan

A month ago i SM'd Chase for the 55,000 +$50 - worked like a charm. Now, my friend tells me they replied to him with a no. Did they pull the plug? Will they match him to something lower? (Sorry if this was already discussed, i wasn't following this particular thread, and searching this exact query will be quite difficult. My apologies again :) )

You don't worry about it, it's fake.

Just sent an SM to add an AU and confirm that I get the 5,000 bonus points, here's part of their response:
You will receive 50,000 bonus miles after you have met
$1,000.00 in new purchases within the first three months
of the opening of your account. You will see these bonus
miles post to your account six to eight weeks from the
date the minimum spend was met.
?You will earn 5,000 bonus miles by adding an authorized
user and making your first purchase in the first three
months of opening of your account.
?You also can earn 10,000 bonus miles when you spend
$25,000 or more on your card each calendar year.

If you are unable to exceed the $1,000.00 threshold by
2-16-12 please contact us at that time and we would be
happy to add the 50,000 miles.

Thanks Chase!

any way i can get anything extra out of this?
