United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Was successful in getting it pushed through via SM x3 with very delayed responses. The offer they extended was: 50k / 2k / 2 mos. 5k for an AU. Additional 10k if $25k spent in 10 mos. To capture any of the bonuses, I need to reach out to a specific contact  - an lengthy extension was provided to Mr - via phonetic.

I found this easier than applying for 30 and matching. Create a new UA FFN. Log into the old one. Select any paid flight and click the link at the top for 50k + 5k + $50. In the app switch the FFN.

You were able to change the FF# on the app? When I tried it, it wouldn't let me edit that. I sent a screenshot of the offer and that worked for me.

At first no. Then I figured out a way to do it. I don't remember what I did.

Played with the url? I was afraid to do that in case it didn't work and I would lose the whole thing.

Possibly or maybe something with private mode?
I wasn't afraid because worst case I would be in the same boat of applying without the offer and matching.

If they link a used account then you wouldn't get any bonus never mind a match.

Just messed around and it came back to me: double click the old ffn in the app so it highlights it. Right click and choose "inspect element." A ton of code should come up in the bottom of the screen, find the value=oldffn and replace it with your new one.

Am I a hacker?? lol

ETA: Chrome

i called up and mentioned seeing this offer online when logged into my united account before signing up for the card and asked to be given the 50k+ 5k + $50 signup bonus.
She said she will forward the request to the marketing department and I'll hear from them in 7-10 days via mail.
Does this mean anything either way?

Standard procedure (usually) when you call them.
Rather SM usually more sufficient

What do you mean by "Select any paid flight"?

After creating a new account, logging out and signing in to the old one?
