United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

I sent 5 secure message's and they refused to budge. I ended up getting matched through twitter
Chase Twitter is capable of things that almost no other rep can/wants (to) do.

How does Chase Twitter work?
Tweet the basic issue with their username in the tweet, like @Chase I'm having a problem getting... And they will follow and ask you to direct message them more info. Direct messages can only be seen by them and not the rest of twitter but either way they never ask for your whole card number etc.

Would this method work for CSP reconsideration you think?

Is there an amount of time to wait before churning the card and getting the bonus without switching FFN?
(What about Sapphire)

Sapphire and any other Chase card not attached to an FFN, if you get approved you'll get the bonus.

Think it's officially 24 months
so is it 24 months since you've last received the bonus? or 24 months since having the card?

If I forgot to put in any FFN then I called them up and put in a new one will I be eligible for the bonus if I had this card several months ago?

24-Month Rule for Churning United Explorer Visa
« Reply #3971 on: January 22, 2015, 01:58:46 PM »
Hi,

I need some help from the forum experts here.

I'm trying to churn the consumer Chase United Explorer Visa to get the signup bonus again, but it's less than 24 months since I received the bonus the last time and I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger.
Here's what I did:
  • Opened the last United Explorer Visa card in Sep'13
  • Received the bonus points ~2 months later (Nov'13)
  • Used all the points in that United account for flights
  • Closed the card in Sep'14
  • Opened another United account with a different username in Nov'14
  • Received a targeted 50K (+5K for AU) offer for a Chase United Explorer Visa expiring by end of Feb for the new United account

Now the offer terms state that:
This new cardmember bonus offer is not available to ... previous cardmembers of this consumer credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this consumer credit card within the last 24 months.

My question is:
based on the experience of the members here, do you think that Chase would enforce the 24-month rule if I'm using a new United account?

Thanks!

I wasn't aware of that other thread.

I went there and some people mention you DO need to wait 24 months from when you got your last bonus. What is the verdict?

IINM you just don't put in your FFN, let them make you a new one and you'll get it.

Anyone know how much longer the in-branch offer will remain 50k + 5k for? And do most Chase branches have this offer?
In my opinion it's probably easier to just do it that way then getting matched afterwards...

Secondly if I just go approved for both SW personals earlier this week what's the recommended wait time before applying for this one - United? (The only credit score I know of is my Transunion which is 763)

just SMed them, and despite the last few dollars only pending, they wrote back saying they put the 20k in my account

How would you then MBM?
hope that applying that day would be the same pull?
